  Talen is perhaps the most beautiful fragrance Zegna has ever created within its family line. I was left speechless: it is a quality extract of unsurpassed calibre, featuring a crystal-clear, elevated citrus bouquet, but not the classic bergamot affair—rather, a diamond-grade lime! It radiates an aura of celestial light that denotes wealth and class; while it pairs perfectly with a suit, it also tolerates a certain informality thanks to an intense, sweet black tea note. I tested it in the Zegna store with a vial; it reminded me of Voyage by Hermès, yet it is infinitely more beautiful and luminous. It is perfect for all four seasons, and I believe it will shine brightest in autumn. When its brilliance fades, it descends to a subtle sandalwood and a dry cedar note, landing somewhat in the middle ground of Voyage. Its longevity is average, somewhat disappointing for an extract, but the scent is so luminous and appealing that it is worth waiting for a price drop to pick it up without blinking. If you appreciate citrus-focused compositions, here is an ultra-modern exponent. It is an absolute must-have if you seek positive, luminous, and refined scents.
