Too citrusy and flat. I can’t distinguish it from other similar ones in the top notes, although it might last longer. It feels very skin-scented and is very similar to Bvlgari’s Mon Jasmin Noir. Perhaps the men’s version has better sillage or is better suited for summer, but I can’t find its particularity compared to other fragrances in the Privé line. Very common for such a high price.
Armani Privé Vétiver Babylone: opens with wood and woody citrus, leaning towards dry cedar and vetiver. The wood is crisp, aromatic and light, with that typical ‘pencil-shaving’ touch, while the vetiver acts as a salty, earthy base. There are spicy citrus notes, an oriental ambience with bright spices like red pepper and clove. It’s a citrus-woody cologne, more aromatic and floral than usual, clean, cheerful and inoffensive. Moderate projection and short longevity. I think it’s expensive for what it offers, but worth having; I like it, but only for collecting, not for repetition.
I was looking for something more recognisable. It smells good and has quality, but it’s indefinable and honestly fades quickly on blotter and skin, like a flash. It’s slightly green, spicy and fruity; the vetiver is noticeable but very faint, as if you’re smelling everything at once. It smells clean and fresh, but quite weak.
Today’s perfume: citrus, mineral and clean, with that aquatic touch of cold water. It’s not a classic vetiver; rather, it offers freshness and sophistication, with soft woods and musks that linger on the skin. It’s discreet, elegant and perhaps a bit basic. I wouldn’t buy it, but if I did own it, I’d wear it all the time.
