Descripción
Malbec Noir by O Boticário is a woody-spicy fragrance for men. Launched in 2015, this composition was created by Napoleão Bastos, Dominique Ropion, and Claire Liégent. The top notes unfold with aquatic aromas, pink pepper, apple, pineapple, bergamot, orange, Sicilian lemon, mandarin, and grapefruit. The heart of the fragrance reveals Pinot Noir grapes, red wine, lavender, pepper, coriander, and neroli. Finally, the base notes offer a foundation of tonka bean, amber, sandalwood, gin, cashmere, patchouli, vetiver, musk, and labdanum.

I bought this fragrance and it took two weeks to arrive from Brazil. Upon spraying, it smells like Paco Rabanne’s Invictus; as it dries, a very subtle grape note emerges, finishing with wine. It has strong projection but doesn’t last long on the skin: five hours on skin and 20 to 24 on clothing. I tested it with five friends and it lasted the same for everyone; one said four sprays made them dizzy. I recommend testing it before buying. It’s rich, but it’s not just grape to feel powerful. In the first week, I received nine compliments from different women, all asking what I was wearing. A blonde at university took a deep breath and asked what I had on. I’ve had it for a month. Rating: 8/10 longevity, 4/10 sillage, 5/10 projection (strong at first, then disappears by hour five), 7/10 value (cheap, though there are better options). I feel happy to be the first to review this fragrance that I love and hate at the same time. Best regards.
I bought this fragrance and waited two weeks for it to arrive from Brazil. When I first smelled it in the air, it reminded me of Paco Rabanne’s Invictus; once it dried down, the grape note was very weak but present, and towards the end, the wine note became noticeable. I recommend trying it before buying: it’s very potent in projection but doesn’t last long on skin (5 hours on skin, 20 to 24 on clothes). I tested the longevity with five friends, and it lasted almost the same for everyone; the one who told me it lasted longest said 6 hours on skin. Even one person said they felt dizzy after just four sprays. That’s why I advise trying it before purchasing. We can’t deny it’s rich, but the grape isn’t strong enough to claim ‘I smell like grape and I’m powerful’. In the first week, I received nine compliments from different women, all saying ‘what a lovely scent’; even a blonde at university took a deep breath and asked what I was wearing. I’ve had it for a month. Rating: compliments 8/10, longevity 4/10, projection 5/10 (projects heavily for the first two hours, then disappears until the fifth hour when it’s only detectable if you press your nose against the skin), price 7/10 (it’s cheap compared to others, but there are better options that last longer). I feel happy to be the first to leave a review for this fragrance that I both love and hate. Best wishes.
I love this fragrance: it has an immense opening that saturates the room. It’s a dark and seductive scent, yet not heavy; it feels aquatic, slightly citrusy, with intoxicating freshly crushed grapes. Then it moves to pepper, which makes it elegant, the softness of cashmere and sandalwood, a hint of sweetness from amber and tonka bean, and a gin and tonic note which I don’t detect, as I think it smells more like iced wine. Everyone who has complimented me says it smells like grape or cold wine. It lasts 7 to 8 hours on skin and days on clothes. It has good trail and you can tell where you’ve been. It’s a proper beast and, for the price paid, it’s bloody brilliant.
I absolutely love this fragrance; it has an immense opening that permeates the room. It’s dark and seductive yet light, with aquatic and citrus notes at the start, followed by intoxicating freshly crushed grapes. Then comes the pepper, adding elegance, alongside the softness of cashmere and sandalwood, a slight sweetness from amber and tonka bean, and that gin tonic note which smells more like iced wine to me. Everyone who has commented says it smells of grape or cold wine. On skin, it lasts 7 or 8 hours; on clothes, days. It has a great trail; you can tell where you’ve been. It’s a proper perfume, and for the price paid, it’s bloody brilliant.
The Nuit d’Issey by O Boticario has good performance.
El Nuit de Issey Miyake from Boticario: good overall performance.
Disclaimer: I don’t usually write reviews, but this one blew my mind. I already own Nuit d’Issey, yet I always try similar scents; I was surprised to find O Boticario instead of an Arab house. Here in town, I heard about O Boticario, saw the price, and bought it on the spot. It smells very similar to Issey Miyake: both are dark, elegant, and woody. The main difference is that Malbec Noir becomes sweeter as it dries down, thanks to the wine notes (the ‘Malbec’ name really shows). Although both claim to have pepper, I detect much more in Issey, probably due to the abundance of woods in Nuit d’Issey compared to Malbec Noir. If you’re looking for something dark and woody for a night out or autumn/winter, I recommend it wholeheartedly, or as an alternative so you don’t run out of your Issey bottle. Projection is moderate; initially, it projects strongly and lasts seven hours on my skin, after which it’s only detectable up close. I recommend two sprays rather than one. The atomiser is excellent for the price—I paid $35, no complaints, it’s exactly what I was looking for. I received compliments, and the performance is great for the cost.
Clarification: I don’t usually write reviews, but this one blew my mind. I own the Nuit d’Issey, but I always try similar fragrances. I was surprised to see O Boticario instead of an Arabian house; fortunately, there are O Boticario stores here. When people smelled it and I saw the price, I bought it instantly. It’s very similar to Issey Miyake’s: both are dark, elegant, and woody. The big difference is that Malbec Noir becomes sweeter as it dries due to the wine (the name ‘Malbec’ is very present). Although both declare pepper, I feel much more of it in the Issey Miyake, assuming it’s because of the amount of wood in the Nuit d’Issey compared to the Malbec Noir. If you’re looking for something dark with woods for night dates or autumn/winter, I recommend it wholeheartedly, or if you want an alternative without finishing your bottle of Nuit d’Issey. Moderate trail, projects heavily upon application, and lasts 7 hours on my skin; afterwards, you only smell it when bringing your nose close. I recommend two sprays instead of one. The atomiser is good for the price; I paid $35 and have no complaints because it’s exactly what I was looking for. I received compliments, great performance for the price.
The Brazilians know a thing or two about perfume; this brand has a stack of them… Natura is top too. My wife gave it to me, I’m from Brazil. The longevity is very good and excellent. I recommend it for the price.
We Brazilians have very good perfumes; this brand has many… Natura too… My wife gifted it to me, and I live in Brazil… Its longevity is very good and it’s excellent. I recommend it for its price.
