I went to a department store to try the new Black Orchid Reserve, and although I hope it surpasses the original, which is my favourite, this version sounded quite strident to me. It seems the truffle is very heavy, along with a bergamot and a very bitter dark chocolate; nothing like the Mexican chocolate of the other, which is spiced and sweet. The ylang-ylang also feels more green than floral due to that initial bitterness, so much so I thought it had tobacco, although it’s not declared. After two hours, the usual DNA came out: tonka bean and vanilla sweetening it a little, plus patchouli giving it class. The longevity is brutal; it lasted longer than on Dorado Perfume, which has very poor longevity on my skin. I didn’t like it when I applied it, but after hours I think I’d buy it for its potency. I’ll give it a second chance ❤️

Try this perfume; it shares the same DNA as the original Black Orchid but is more intense and sweet. The trail and longevity are out of this world. Here, the chocolate isn’t bitter or cocoa-like; it’s sweet alongside the vanilla. I adore the truffle note, which appears with an earthy touch. Without a doubt, it will stay in my collection.
