  It was my favourite fragrance from adolescence. It accompanied me and set me apart throughout my youth. I wore it on my wedding night because, although I have tried many others, it remains my husband’s and my favourite.

  It was my first perfume at 14. Forty years have passed and I don’t even remember it well, only that it was very strong and cloying. My friends and the nuns at school adored my scent; they always asked what I was wearing. I would love to smell it again, but I’m not sure if it’s still available to buy.

  My mother wore this when I was a teenager. I only remember that it was very strong but I loved it, and that the box was black with gold lettering. I think I’m not mistaken.

  This is my mum’s favourite perfume. She swapped it for an Estée Lauder; both are discontinued, but when you can find them, they are almost identical: strong, vintage, ambered, aldehyde-heavy, with a massive trail that lasts all day. Very, very heavy.

  For years it was my mother’s perfume, that aldehydic floral scent that seemed to last forever. She has now switched to L’air du Temps by Nina Ricci, which smells almost identical. Without a doubt, one of Revlon’s finest vintage fragrances. Unforgettable.
