Revlon was founded in New York in 1932 by the brothers Charles and Joseph Revson and the chemist Charles Lachman. The company started with an opaque nail polish and soon expanded its activity to lipsticks and other beauty categories. In the early sixties it entered perfumery and began its international expansion.
Charlie arrived in 1973 and became the fragrance most associated with the Revlon name. The company maintains a broader portfolio, with makeup, skincare, hair colouring, tools and perfumes. Its business is distributed across numerous countries and combines its own products with fragrance lines managed through licences.
