My verdict on the current JONTUE: at first spray, that green and balsamic explosion from Eden by Cacharel strikes again. It is pure nature, forests, and honeyed yellow flowers, with a subtle mentholated touch that doesn’t shout. Although honey isn’t listed, it smells of it. Imagine a freshly cut bouquet with resinous cypress notes; everything is very refined, nothing as coarse as in a man’s scent; to me, it smells like a woman. It has an unusual feminine elegance, for someone confident who doesn’t seek external validation, like someone living in the countryside away from the noise and gossip, maintaining good taste from the cradle. It is the epitome of American Old Money: beautiful women, horses, and that aesthetic used by wealthy families in the 70s and 80s. It evokes summers in the countryside, earth, and cypresses with a fresh breeze. It reminds me of my history teacher, a lady over 60, strict but worldly, who travelled to Hungary and wore precious stone rings. Revlon was right to create this for people of inherited wealth far from the city. I’ve read the old version was heavier and that Giorgio Beverly Hills shares that spirit, though JONTUE is on another level. Nowadays, perfume houses only copy fast fashion, those cocktails of cream, caramel, and alcoholic fruit that give headaches; no legacy. But with JONTUE, I would buy it again without a doubt.

I live a nostalgia with Jontue: it is delicate and tender. The mimosa, chamomile, and rose create a magical garden that sometimes reminds me of Timeless by Avon, but Jontue has more body and character, without being rough, but deeply feminine. I found it recently in a shop in a remote village, in a display case with the box faded by the passage of time. The seller told me she wanted it for a low price and sold it to me for a laugh. When I opened it, the liquid was intact and the smell exactly as I remembered from my student years. It was like returning to my most beautiful era. Beautiful!

This brings back memories of my student days with Jontue, a delicate and tender fragrance. The mimosa, chamomile, and rose create a magical garden that sometimes reminds me of Avon’s Timeless, but Jontue has more character—the kind of character a confident, feminine woman possesses. I found it recently in a shop in a distant village, displayed in a dusty old case; the saleswoman told me it was faded, so I asked her to sell it to me and she did for a ridiculously low price. It brought back my most beautiful era; the liquid was still intact and the scent identical to the memory… beautiful!

Romantic from the first spray to the end, it smells of a field of flowers and reflects the beauty and naturalness of life with that unique, coquettish Revlon touch. It is lovely, woody, green, floral, with herbs and subtle touches of fresh, elegant chamomile flowers… the longevity is surprising and timeless. It reminds me of Chanel 19 to give you an idea. You can still find it available.

I have always loved the advertising for this perfume, that romantic idea of walking through meadows full of white flowers, in a loose dress playing with the wind. Surrounded by the beauty of nature and a man who seems to be on our search, like a blue prince. All filmed with vivid colours in a misty atmosphere. To my surprise, I ended up buying this fragrance eventually. I always hesitated to buy it because of people criticising its reformulation, and because sometimes green-cut florals don’t always attract me. That is why I ended up buying it when I saw it in front of me in a shop window (something that had never happened to me until today). How regretful I am for not having bought it before; Jontué is a splendid floral. I know it is from the 70s, but I feel it more from the 80s. I can even see Nancy from the series ‘Stranger Things’ in the scene of the Great Ball using this fragrance. The composition reminds me a bit of Pavlova by Payot or Jardin de la Bagatelle by Guerlain, those super loud white florals that marked an era. Broadly speaking, white flowers, moss, and mimosas. Wrapped in a sweet musk, with small green touches. The mimosa and chamomile join and form like a single note, very similar to what happens in Beautiful by Estée Lauder, but I notice Lauder is more ambitious, playing with a tipsy side and double the notes, while Revlon defends its idea of an intense floral without excesses. As soon as we spray it, it is very narcotic; in fact, it strikes us that a cologne can be so concentrated; this can last about 30 minutes, but of course afterwards it fades quickly. After four hours, it remains very soft on the skin. The good thing is that we can apply it as many times as we want once this happens. I don’t understand why people were so hard on the reformulation of this fragrance; it sometimes prevents one from wanting to buy it. I didn’t try the old version, but I know vintage; I think this, to be a cheap cologne, is more than acceptable in terms of aroma and performance. It really manages to convey what I saw in the advertising.

I was given this as a gift. It projects strongly, so you only need a tiny spritz, but to me it felt suffocating and reminiscent of an older lady. I would not recommend it.
