  I think it’s a serious oversight that this perfume has not a single review. I’m not an expert, but I’ll try to explain: it left me with a bittersweet sensation, very promising at first but then vanishing abruptly, leaving me wanting more. It’s a spiced, woody chypre that evolves quickly, blending notes until it finally becomes soapy, rich, exquisite, clean, and elegant; it would be perfect with a suit or for a boyfriend. Think of it as the Xerjoff version of Roja’s Diaghilev, just to give you an idea. In terms of performance, on my skin it lasted about four hours with good projection and potency, then dropped off sharply, leaving only the soapy facet before ending as it began: with a less luminous, spiced woody base, until it faded. In total, around five or six hours of enjoyment. I find the performance lacking for the price—four hours of bliss and the rest just a dramatic finale; you wouldn’t want such a beautiful fantasy to end so abruptly. To sum up, it’s soapy, ultra-elegant, and high quality, with moderate to short longevity, a large and noticeable sillage that isn’t annoying, and very balanced. It’s one of the best, if not the best, from this house, yet little known, overshadowed by other rubbish the brand spews out, which isn’t my favourite save for a few exceptions. Homme by Xerjoff is essential.
