Descripción
Lunosa by Xerjoff is an oriental floral creation launched in 2020, designed for men and women. Its olfactive pyramid unfolds with top notes of cyprus (nagarmota) and neroli; a heart composed of Indian nard, gardenia and sandalwood; and a base evoking tobacco, oud wood and Haitian vetiver.

Exclusive Harrods perfume. The opening is heavily tuberose-led, with patchouli in the base and a woody oud emerging after a few minutes (nothing resinous or dirty), with vetiver also detectable. Tuberose is the star and dominates everything. Totally feminine and classic. It smells very old-fashioned, like what your grandmother used, but that’s not negative, just descriptive. Good performance and quality. Is it worth £740 for 100ml (the only size)? Without getting into how ugly the bottle is, the perfume itself is what matters. Is it worth it? Absolutely not. Let me put it this way: Carnal Flower by Frédéric Malle is heavy on tuberose and offers slightly better quality. Kiss My Name by Ramón Monegal has ‘tuberoses by the spoonful’, feels very dated and also smells like your grandmother. Narcotic Venus by Nasomatto doesn’t reach that level, but tuberose still dominates and it’s cheerful. Why pay a ridiculous sum when you can get the same, or even better, elsewhere? I’m not suggesting you buy cheap clones from houses like Alexandria or Dua, which leave much to be desired; go for the niche options mentioned. These are high-end houses, or do you think Nasomatto, Frédéric Malle, and Ramón Monegal ‘fall short’ and can’t compete with Xerjoff? Please. Any reason to buy Lunosa? You want a horrible ornament for your home, though I wouldn’t understand why, as for that price you could buy a nice Lladró figurine. This one is a lovely ornament. If Lunosa cost $350 (£255), it would still be very expensive for what it offers. Zero originality. Only if it’s a gift should you consider enjoying it.
