  At first it reminds me of Gold, but then it evolves: whereas Gold is dominated by amber and vanilla, here the rose and musk take centre stage. What’s interesting is that the oud is noticeable, much more so than in the original, even though it’s not listed in the ingredients. The trail and longevity are excellent; both last through a shower, which is testament to how good they are. It can be compared to Montale, though it’s not quite as aggressive. On Fragrantica, someone likened it to Black Aoud, but for me, it’s not the same rose – it lacks the quality to match it. That said, it’s not bad at all; sometimes you just get what you pay for. Between Gold and Platinum, I’d choose this: Gold is sweeter, while this is more woody and refined. Rating 8.5/10
