It is the second fragrance from Rogue I have tried and the second I love, but once again I find that, on my skin, it does not perform enough. By an hour and a half it fades considerably until it is skin-scent only, and by four hours there is just a tiny trace left. It is an ideal combination of flowers (mainly carnation), aldehydes that give freshness, oakmoss and a soft animal note. Fru facets are noticeable. It is very versatile, suitable for all seasons and fundamentally for daytime. As a perfumer, Manuel Cross seems masterful to me and his creations are delicious. However, given the poor performance it has on me, I would unfortunately not buy a 60 ml bottle for £125.
I think it is the weakest perfume in the Rogue range I have tried, by far. It is a clean, floral scent with a certain mossiness, a compact blend that smells good but is simple. I would say it is like Ishtar but with only a tenth of the potency.
I arrived eager to try it and it does not disappoint: it is neither dirty nor difficult to wear. As a vintage lover, it brings me to mind Bal À Versailles, since Cross updates the 40 Love by Jean Desprez. It reminds me so much that I wonder if that is where the line began. It is an aldehydic floral that evokes classic Chanaels such as Cuir De Russie extrait or the Eau de Cologne N5. In short, a vintage, floral scent with the right amount of animal note. If you already have vintages, it is dispensable. It smells wonderful and lasts a long time.
