If a perfume makes me smile, I’ve struck gold, and this artisanal Rostracto has achieved it. It’s a rose bomb; you don’t smell a single flower, but entire hectares. In the second phase, smoky woods, almost charred, green notes, and a sweet touch that to my nose seems amber-like join in. Then, mixed with that amber, comes that herbal, musky, and talc-like aroma that provides the fixative. Three sprays last perfectly for eight hours, and I can’t stop smelling it for a second. The projection, given its durability, I imagine is around a metre and a half. Edit: It’s that opulent, juicy rose among smoky and incense-like woods that has me hypnotised. Manuel Cross: you’re a beast of perfumery, period.
If a perfume makes me laugh, it has hit the bullseye, and this artisanal Rostracto has been the knockout blow. It is an explosion of roses; you don’t smell a single flower, but hectares of them. Then come the burnt and charred woods, with green notes and a sweet touch which I believe is amber. In the base, that amber blend melts with an herbal, musky, and talc-like scent that guarantees longevity. Three sprays last eight hours without fail, and the projection, being so persistent, reaches about a metre and a half. Edit: It is a juicy, immense rose among smoky and incense-laden woods that has left me hypnotised. Manuel Cross: you are a monster of perfumery, period.
It opens with a magnificent, fleshy, and intensely powerful rose. In the heart, the rose remains dominant, but woody notes, slightly bitter green accords, and musk emerge. The base is very musky with woody and green nuances. I’ve noticed around eight hours of longevity in summer, with good projection while the rose takes over the first two to three hours. My verdict: it’s a unisex scent with two distinct sides. On one hand, a beautiful, realistic rose; on the other, a very persistent musk that, in my opinion, detracts slightly from the initial beauty.
