Bon Monsieur is very classic, despite its youth. It smells of green lavender fields, with a hint of old-fashioned barbershop, and the geranium reinforces that vintage touch. It’s manly in the purest sense, very groomed and polished. I prefer it in the morning, in autumn or on fresh days. It’s very lively and lifts the mood.
An old-school fougère, a softer and more wearable version of Mousse Illuminé. A vintage aroma that few recreate so well; Manuel Cross has achieved this with great taste. I’ve loved it, almost putting it among my favourites in the brand. The final dry-down on the skin is simply wonderful.
Bon Monsieur is the quintessential masculine fougère of the 80s at its finest. Exquisite lavender, geranium, and a base of moss, woods, and musk that leaves a soapy finish. It doesn’t invent anything new, but it recovers that quality, depth, and clarity lost in recent years. Classic, manly and invigorating, it smells like what my sons might have identified in me years ago. Notable quality and good value. It may seem mature for some, but it’s a real treat to smell it.
