Heritas: Santa Eulalia marks a century since its first show with a formula by Chris Maurice
Heritas revives a formula by Chris Maurice to mark a hundred years since Santa Eulalia's first show. Notes, bottle, sizes and prices.
Chris Maurice has revived a previously unreleased formula from his personal archive to create Heritas, the new perfume from Santa Eulalia. The Barcelona house presented it on 9 September at La Paloma, as part of the centenary celebrations for its first haute couture show. Frangipani, vanilla and sandalwood are the notes the house chose to introduce the composition.

The reference to 1926 points to a specific address: Santa Eulalia’s first shop, in the Pla de la Boqueria, where that show took place. During the presentation of Heritas, images of the house’s past catwalk shows were projected. Guests were able to experience the three main notes separately at scent stations set up for the occasion.
Chris Maurice and the memory of frangipani
The creator is a third-generation perfumer from Barcelona. For this commission he has reinterpreted the composition from his archive. Heritas joins Santa Eulalia’s Origine collection as a unisex eau de parfum.
Maurice associates frangipani with his childhood garden in Barcelona. The flower appears in the top notes of Heritas.
A floral with vanilla and sandalwood
Santa Eulalia places Heritas in the floral oriental family. The house describes the frangipani as sunny and airy, accompanied by soft vanilla and creamy sandalwood. Iris root appears in the heart; benzoin and musk complete the base.
The bottle by Mario Esquenazi
The bottle was designed by Mario Esquenazi, winner of the Premio Nacional de Diseño. Heritas comes in a 75 ml size and in a smaller 15 ml version.
Both sizes are on sale on the Santa Eulalia website: 180 euros for the 75 ml and 35 euros for the 15 ml. The shop at Passeig de Gràcia 93, in Barcelona, also appears as a collection point for orders.
