Descripción
Acqua di Parma Colonia Assoluta by Acqua di Parma is an aromatic citrus fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2003, this composition was created by Bertrand Duchaufour and Jean-Claude Ellena. The top notes unfold bitter orange, bergamot, lemon with nuances of lemon balm and sweet verbena, alongside sweet orange. The heart reveals ylang-ylang, vetiver, jasmine, cedar, pink pepper, cardamom and sweet paprika. The base settles on oakmoss, resins, white musk and patchouli.

Acqua di Parma Colonia Assoluta has a clean and very refreshing scent, ideal for summer. At first it’s a rich burst of citrus that then blends with something floral, perhaps jasmine, until reaching a rewarding dry-down, soapy and powdery. It lasts a long time, almost 7 hours, enough for me. For a citrus scent, it’s recommended for lovers of this type of fragrance, although it has a somewhat special scent, it’s not just citrus.
Acqua di Parma Colonia Assoluta is brilliant. As Alicia said, it has an intense and rich citrus opening that within minutes adds floral notes, jasmine and ylang-ylang, giving it an aromatic and powdery touch. In its dry-down phase, the most lasting, the citrus and flowers give way to resins, patchouli and oakmoss, creating that feeling of fine aromatic soap. It resembles the classic Colonia, but this one is more persistent with better longevity. It’s unisex and conveys the feeling of just having had a bath. Ideal for spring and summer, day and night.
According to the website, it has bergamot, lemon, mandarin, grapefruit, red orange and petit grain. It has similarities with Essenza but with a more citrusy opening and a soapy dry-down, less powdery. It’s fresh, aromatic and bitter thanks to the petit grain. As it dries, it becomes more soapy, like just after a shower. The woods, especially the vetiver, are subtly noticeable. The citrus lasts longer than in Essenza. The finish is slightly earthy. I struggle to identify the flowers, especially the ylang, which doesn’t smell as I expect. The lavender and orange blossom are noticeable. It lasts less than Essenza but it shows if applied well. I see it more for men and for hot climates. The notes are natural and of good quality. I like it, but it doesn’t drive me crazy. It’s good, but nothing more.
It starts with natural citrus from bitter orange peel and within five minutes it already smells of wood. Then everything blends with floral and green notes. The projection drops quickly, to just a few centimetres. Here’s the best part: a soapy and charming aura. Light, fresh, classic… but ephemeral. After half an hour only the sweet orange and the soapy touch remain. After an hour, it’s an almost imperceptible trail that disappears soon. I doubt it’s the bottle; it’s the cologne that lasts the least in my collection. Smells good, but doesn’t project or last long enough to get to work. Bought blind, a disappointment.
It’s a bomb of bergamot and sour orange. At first I thought, ‘Is that it?’ and walked away without buying it. But little by little it won my heart. It’s intense yet soft, straight and upright. The resins give it elegance, the vetiver a magical green touch, and at the end the amber ties everything together in a soft eternity. The sillage is perfect; you can still smell it even after a shower. It smells clean, fresh, and like a citrus temple. A masterpiece by Ellena and Duchaufour.
What a delight! If you love fresh citrus with a touch of musk, this is your fragrance. Totally recommended.
