A very invigorating, fresh, herbal, aromatic and totally unisex fragrance. Perfect for use without hesitation on stifling summer days. A must-have of citrus, rosemary and spices with a wonderful dry-down. I haven’t seen it in physical stores for ages; I only find it online.

Eau Dynamisante de Clarins (1987): a unisex fragrance with a very fresh herbal scent, featuring an energetic opening between herbs and spices. The minty notes of caraway and cardamom blend with the camphoraceous rosemary, rounding out the citrus where the limes fade. In its evolution, there are intervals that remind me of Eau de Rochas, but here thyme gives it a more aromatic and earthy character alongside patchouli. For me, it’s a more aromatic Eau de Rochas. I also sense fragments of Puig’s Agua Brava and flashes of Rabanne’s R. It’s a very beautiful and authentic fragrance, super fresh for summer.
Clarins Eau Dynamisante (1987) is a unisex fragrance with a very fresh herbal scent and an extremely energising opening between herbs and spices. The minty notes of caraway and cardamom blend with the camphoraceous rosemary, which rounds off the citrus, where the limes fade away. In its evolution, there are intervals that remind me of Eau de Rochas, but here the thyme accord gives it a more aromatic and earthy character alongside the patchouli. For me, it is a more aromatic Eau de Rochas. I also sense fragments of Puig’s Eau Brava and, looking deeper, flashes of Rabanne’s R. Then comes a bitter, damp rosemary, closing with an intense aroma of freshly cut thyme, slightly earthy due to the patchouli. More than an EDT, it feels like a cologne. It starts intense, changes quickly and evaporates fast. Excellent for the heat and totally unisex (indeed, against the current sweet trend, it leans towards masculine). The trail is moderate at first but the longevity is scarce, perhaps two hours close to the skin. Nevertheless, it’s an excellent option if you can find it on discount.

I got to know you through some miniatures I bought; I didn’t have high expectations, your bottle seemed very simple but I wasn’t going to let that fool me. In my opinion, the rosemary note intimidates the others; probably the Almafí lemon wants to stand up to it but fails. I like your good trail, unfortunately I can’t say the same about the longevity. You remind me a bit of a cologne my grandfather used to wear.
Eau Dynamisante is a very good and little-known fragrance to refresh yourself in summer. When I say good, it’s because yesterday while sorting boxes I found a hidden 30 ml gift sample given to me almost 20 years ago…and it smells exactly the same as then…herbal all by itself, smelling of that rosemary that is hard to find today and reminds me clearly and exactly of my homeland, when I walk or run and wish to have the scent of the countryside I approach the rosemary, rub my hands on its leaves and smell that characteristic scent while the sun shines…it’s a Mediterranean countryside sensation that this fragrance offers entirely, including the quite potent citrus touch. I don’t know how this fragrance must be now, reformulated or not, but it hasn’t gone bad in almost 20 years…uff, it’s good: it has won on its own, and in terms of longevity just like many EDTs we have in summer at higher prices. Before I noticed a more masculine scent, but now it doesn’t seem so to me, it seems simply herbal and revitalising.

Eau Dynamisante, I want you in my collection! When I was a child I heard this fragrance for the first time, my mum used it and let me wear it. I still remember its refreshing and comforting aroma. Its fresh heart makes it a perfect fragrance for summer. It smells of lemons and oranges with little touches of coriander and rosemary. It smells slightly like a men’s cologne, but definitely women can use it too. The citrus predominates but when I wear it it produces a very zen and revitalising aquatic sensation, that wakes you up and clears the mind… This fragrance is very clean and fresh, and if patchouli is in the base notes I don’t perceive it at all. I want to buy a bottle of this work of art and even more so now that it’s celebrating its 25th anniversary. In my opinion it can already be considered a modern classic in the world of perfumery. When you apply it on the skin it doesn’t feel astringent and cold like the alcohol of other perfumes, rather it feels like fresh water that moisturises the skin and it’s inevitable to want to apply more and more because it feels like you’re giving yourself a refreshing bath… It doesn’t have a sprayer, so you smear this fragrance all over and it’s incredibly delicate on the skin even with all the citrus present in the composition. I love this fragrance and I don’t mind if it lacks longevity, I wouldn’t tire of reapplying it ever. It’s a fragrance that stays close to the skin and doesn’t have great diffusion/projection power, you don’t wear it for others, but for your own enjoyment…

Upon application, it doesn’t smell of cold alcohol, but rather fresh water that hydrates the skin; it’s impossible not to want to reapply because it’s like giving yourself a shower. It doesn’t come with a sprayer, so you have to dab it all over, and it’s incredibly delicate despite the citrus notes. I love it and don’t mind that it doesn’t last long; I wouldn’t tire of reapplying. It stays close to the skin with little projection, meant for your own enjoyment.
