The scent is top-notch, yet I wouldn’t wear it myself; it feels more feminine than masculine to me. It’s a classic Citrus Aromatic, but with a distinctly feminine twist. Still, I highly recommend it.
The scent is exquisite, but I wouldn’t wear it; it feels more feminine than masculine to me. It’s a proper aromatic citrus, but very feminine. Highly recommended.
It could be a citrus chypre with natural accords; it has a masterful evolution and is one of those perfumes that make people ask what you’re wearing. It’s enchanting, smelling of Mediterranean plants with a wonderful vetiver that gives it personality. The opening smells like lemon pulp on the hands, but then it becomes a fresh, woody Mediterranean fragrance. It sits well on my skin, highlighting a soft, mentholated vetiver with hints of sea air. Good for stamping your own signature; it’s one of my favourites.
Eau du Sud is like travelling to Provence and Tuscany; it smells of citrus fruits under the sun, a time for relaxation and tranquility. The verbena is juicy and sweet, the lime fresh as if just cut, very realistic. The lemon with basil and mint gives it a unique touch, a perfect midpoint between Eau Sauvage and Dior Ellena. It smells more natural than Dior’s current creations. The only flaw is that it fades quickly, close to the skin, but citrus notes don’t last long anyway. It’s a pleasure to wear, versatile and beautiful, as secure as the landscapes that inspired Annick. Totally recommended if you can find it cheap.
This was my first niche fragrance bought blind thanks to the good price; it smells rich, is citrusy and refreshing, and ideal for summer. It reminds me of the glass bottle colognes my mother used… the only downside is that it doesn’t last, barely two hours. I’d happily repurchase, but at a somewhat high regular price, it’s not justified. Edit: today, 3rd March 2021, the fragrance mutated… it became more intense and patchouli-like… I don’t recommend it for hot days… unfortunately, I no longer enjoy it…
My first blind niche purchase due to the price; very rich, citrusy and refreshing, ideal for summer; it reminds me of my mother’s glass colognes. The only downside is that it doesn’t last, barely two hours, and for the price it’s not justified. Edit: on 3 March 2021 it mutated, becoming more intense and patchouli-like; I no longer recommend it for heat and unfortunately it no longer pleases me.
At first I thought: what rubbish have I bought? But after a few days… what an evolution, what a transformation of its natural ingredients, it’s beautiful. I love how the wood and vetiver linger.
It’s pure Eau Sauvage style with a little mint that tones down its mature vibe. Classy, without a doubt.
Ladies, better not.
I bought this blind based on good reviews and the price. It doesn’t kill me, but it doesn’t make me fall in love either; my family actually hates it at home, hehe. The only good thing is that it feels different and revitalising, though it works better in cool climates than in summer. If you try it, do so without committing.
A few years ago, I was gifted a sample when purchasing another Annick Goutal fragrance, and I was absolutely blown away by that citrus and herbal aroma. To this day, I long to find it again. To me, it smells incredibly natural and revitalising, like fresh grass wet in a well-tended garden. I adore that line of citrus, cypress, and vintage scents with green and woody notes that bring freshness and wellbeing. However, I notice the classic Annick Goutal bottle has changed, and perhaps the fragrance has been reformulated too, which makes me wonder if it’s worth ordering again, especially since the brand doesn’t ship to Chile. For now, it will remain in my dream box, awaiting a current sample.
I’ve yearned for this Annick Goutal gem for years. I received it a while ago and was instantly captivated by that citrusy, herbal scent—super natural, like wet grass in a well-tended garden. It gives me that therapeutic freshness I seek in elegant, vintage chypres. However, be warned: the classic bottle has changed, and I suspect the formula has too. Since it doesn’t ship to Chile, it remains in my dream drawer for now, waiting for a current sample.
