Descripción

Les Nuits d'Hadrien by Goutal is an aromatic citrus fragrance for men and women, launched in 2003 and created by Isabelle Doyen and Camille Goutal. The top notes unfold with green mandarin, Sicilian bergamot, Sicilian lemon, and tangerine orange; the heart reveals cypress, juniper, basil, caraway, and ylang-ylang; while the base notes settle on patchouli, amber, sandalwood, musk, and vanilla.

  • Not much to add to the Gelo review. Citrus, fresh, elegant and lovely opening that invites you to inhale and absorb the notes… yet incomprehensibly, the longevity is laughable. As it dries, it warms up, bringing in the patchouli and sandalwood which completely change the perfume’s identity. On my skin it becomes powdery; after an hour it’s barely skin-deep, and half an hour later, just a memory. Nevertheless, for those sensational notes, it remains in my favourites and is my top pick for post-shower.

As it dries down, it becomes warm, with patchouli and sandalwood entering to completely transform the scent. On my skin it turns powdery; after an hour it’s barely skin-deep, and half an hour later, nothing but a memory. Nevertheless, for those sensational notes, it remains a favourite and tops my list for post-shower wear.

  • Powdery citrus from the house, reminiscent of Eau d’Hadrien but with cypress, making it more serious and complex, with a spicy touch. The best part is the dry-down: woody, dry, like classic oakmoss. Excellent aroma, moderate-to-low longevity and a very weak trail. Rating: 7.

  • My first Annick Goutal fragrance and it disappointed me. Potent citrus opening with herbs (cypress, juniper, basil) and a powdery touch. Lasts three hours; by five hours it’s faded to the point where I can only faintly detect those citrus and herb notes. I wouldn’t wear it in the office or for anything; its best moment is autumn daytime. It lacks any evening charm. Some detect pepper, but I don’t sense it nor is it listed. I wouldn’t recommend it; the only good thing is the dry-down. What a shame; I should learn more before buying blindly.

  • My first Annick Goutal fragrance and it disappointed me. A powerful citrus opening with herbs (cypress, juniper, basil) and a touch of talc. It lasts three hours; by the fifth hour it’s worn off, leaving just those citrus and herbal notes. I wouldn’t wear it to the office or for anything; its best moment is a daytime autumn scent. It lacks any evening charm. Some detect pepper, but I don’t sense it, nor is it listed. I wouldn’t recommend it; the only good thing is the dry-down. Citrusy, green and aromatic, with the sweet basil becoming more prominent as it dries. Lasts a moderate 4 to 5 hours. An interesting scent.
