  Slightly gourmand without being heavy. Its woody vanilla composition makes it unique; all the notes are easily identifiable. I’ve worn it in cold climates, which reveals the woody notes more. Ideal for summer nights. Good sillage and acceptable longevity.

  The most original vanilla in my collection. It’s sweet, but a dry sweet. Not gourmand, yet surprising. The combination of almond and woody vanilla makes it cosy; the wood notes take you to enchanted places. The musk is quite animal but velvety. It’s not a sugar bomb. Although it could be worn all year, I see it as very spring-like. It transports me to an island with dry, fresh breeze, incredibly pleasant.

  A true homage to vanilla in unusual facets. It’s not pastry vanilla nor excessively sweet. As a base, it surprises with a herbal, bitter, and dry hint thanks to the angelica, which I like more and more. The musk, sandalwood, and guaiac make it creamy and woody, with an almond note reminiscent of Jijona nougat. It’s the only gourmand note, without reaching cloying levels. Mature and elegant vanilla, not overwhelming. Very feminine, with Annick Goutal’s class. I would use it in spring and autumn, day and night, for semi-formal occasions. Light, delicate, slightly retro. Weak trail and moderate longevity (about 6 hours on the skin). Pleasant and surprising until the end; sometimes it reminds me of the smell of playdough in art class.

  I love this vanilla; it makes me close my eyes wishing to smell it more. It’s another vanilla gem that has won me over. With the tester almost new, I noticed a herbaceous opening that nearly spoiled the arrival of the sweetness, but then the almond-vanilla bloomed and I liked it immensely. After a while, the wood becomes more noticeable and the sweet part recedes a bit, perhaps due to my skin, as my perfumes are usually intense florals. In the end, it’s a natural vanilla with light wood, elegant and usable all year; the musk hasn’t bothered me. Very balanced and original, better than Atelier’s Vanille Insensee (which is more modern), without being cloying. Tried several times, it confirms it’s not an old-fashioned sweet. Perfect for those wanting vanilla without being gourmand, ideal for summer. I’m smitten: notes of wood, almond at first, and very soft vanilla. It has a vintage air and the musk is well-used. Annick Goutal, Atelier, and Artisan Parfumeur bring many nuances; Byredo is another planet, but Goutal handles flowers with class.

  Vanille Exquise was a genuine surprise. Despite the English reviews, I dived in blindly because I can’t find it in stores. I thought an almond-vanilla scent couldn’t possibly suit me, but it has fascinated me. It’s not for those seeking something potent; it’s an EDT with an alcohol kick, but once it settles, it leaves a fine, non-sweet almond note and a soft, delicate, powdery vanilla. No pastry vanilla here, but if you like almond, angelica, guaiac wood, sandalwood, and musk, it’s a tremendous hit. The trail is very faint and the longevity short, but it’s no common aroma. Recommend it as something extra soft and delicate.
