  • A work of art that reinvents sticky, spiced, dark, and dry oud, blended with smoky tea, dark licorice vanilla, leather, cedar, and an indescribable Havana note that leaves you speechless. A beauty that seems like a mix of several perfumes yet surpasses them all; I can only compare it to Black Orchid mixed with Midnight Paris and touches of Chanel Allure. It is unisex, as I noticed a different and extraordinary performance on both men and women.

  • A work of art reinventing sticky, spiced, dark, and dry oud, paired with smoky tea, a darker and syrupy vanilla, leather, cedar, and a habano note not listed in the description that leaves you astounded. A beauty that could be a blend of several perfumes, yet still falls short of reaching this masterpiece. I can only offer a reference similar to Black Orchid mixed with Midnight Paris and touches of Chanel Allure. It’s unisex, as I felt a different and extraordinary performance on both men and women.

  • It smells oriental, yet in an American style with that noticeable vanilla hint alongside the agarwood; it’s contemporary, suitable for any age and leans towards casual/formal wear, ideal for semi-temperate climates though it works in the cold too, just becoming softer. The woods smell gentle and the clove is sweet; it reminds me of a dessert – in my country, Venezuela, we call it rice pudding. It’s sensual, though not quite to my taste. You can detect black tea and it smells very real, although it doesn’t stand out. Truthfully, after five hours the projection drops significantly and it becomes overly sweet (a bad phase, very bad for my skin). The leather scent is subtle but present. I recommend not buying blindly, but for lovers of contemporary orientals, it would be worthwhile to try it. Sillage: 8/10, Longevity: 7.5/10, Scent: 7/10, Quality: 8/10, Projection: 7/10, Fixation: 8/10, Originality: 8.5/10, Total: 8/10.

  • I received a complimentary sample and I must say that I absolutely loved it. It is a different kind of oud, not the typical pink/oud/vanilla combo that every brand exploits to the hilt. Here, the oud is noticeable but blends with green notes and other woods that soften it and give it character. The opening didn’t appeal to me much; the first half-hour smells excessively strong, straight up like black licorice. But once it dries down and the tea with that soft vanilla base emerges, it becomes irresistible. It is a totally versatile oud. Although marketed as a men’s fragrance, I see it as unisex. It is not an oud for the masses, so I recommend not buying blindly: what was a positive surprise for me could be a disappointment for someone else. Scent: 9, Longevity: 9, Sillage: 8, Value for money: 7, Versatility: 8, Originality: 9, Overall: 8.5.

Hello, this is my first review on Fragrantica, where I never stop learning (thanks to everyone, especially Darkbeat for his advice and samples). I wanted to start my journey by reviewing this fragrance as it fills me with excitement and I managed to get it at a good price; it was my first serious purchase after my Egoiste bottles (I fell in love with its opening but have been disappointed lately. It was my signature and only scent, apart from occasional gifts or later attempts). To be honest, His Majestic the Oud by Atkinsons was a Russian roulette and a 50% whim. I craved the vanilla (along with the cinnamon, which I’ve been searching for since my infatuation with Egoiste) and, at the same time, wanted to dip my toes into the world of oud. Full success! In my opinion, it is a scent I can summarise in two words: elegant and prudent, with good longevity and projection. I don’t think the RRP is realistic, at least for an uneducated nose like mine. Perhaps it is the raw materials. When I see fragrances that exceed €300 and drop to €180-€200, I suspect it is more about elitism and exclusivity than reality (like owning a Ferrari or a Rolls-Royce). I can’t see myself rating it given my lack of experience, perhaps later on.

  • The bottle has a brilliant gold colour and is simply gorgeous. The scent is a hymn to Great Britain. It’s not unisex; it’s designed for people over 30.

  • Excellent fragrance, though I’m selling it as it smells too much like Oud Save the King from the same house (and I prefer that one). Also, winter doesn’t last long in my city. Projection 8/10, longevity 9/10, scent 8.5/10, and value 9/10.

  • An excellent fragrance, though I will be selling it as I find it too similar to the Oud Save the King from the same house (and I have more affection for that one). Furthermore, in my city the cold lasts only a short while. Projection 8/10, longevity 9/10, scent 8.5/10, and value 9/10.

  • What a perfumazo! That said, you must like sandalwood as it is present practically from the start. It is a rounded sandalwood that is not overwhelming, vanilla-scented, and very rich for fresh or cold weather, as it wraps you in a warm smell. It has a good trail; if you apply it to your wrist, you can smell it while walking without applying it to your neck. The longevity is also good, similar to the Other Side of Oud and the Oud Save the King, lasting about eight hours without issues. There is much quality in this Atkinsons series, undoubtedly.

Fantastic perfume! If you like sandalwood, you’ll love it, as it’s present from the very first moment. It’s a rounded sandalwood that doesn’t overwhelm, vanilla-scented and absolutely delicious for cold weather; it wraps you in a warm aroma. It has good projection: if you apply it to your wrist and walk, you can smell it without touching your neck. The longevity is good, just like in Other Side of Oud or Oud Save the King: around eight hours without any issues. Excellent quality in this Atkinsons series, without a doubt.

  • Keeps its promise: elegant and dark, but there’s a catch. The oud smells of roasted coffee, spices, and dusty woods alongside the sandalwood. That kind of oud reminds me of coffee, but in the end it becomes overwhelming, perhaps due to the sandalwood. Not for me.
