Atkinsons continues with that quintessential British look that defines it. It opens with a citrusy, mentholated burst blending with a lavender not listed on the label and a green vetiver reminiscent of Creed. It smells clean and fresh, with a soft sandalwood note giving it substance. Forget gin and tonic or tropical cocktails, thank goodness! However, it does deliver that sought-after mentholated freshness perfect for summer. The mint isn’t the sole star as it is in Xerjoff’s Torino 21; it’s better supported, yet it lingers throughout the fragrance. I see it as a spring and summer scent, suitable for daytime or warm evenings without much effort. It’s elegant, fresh, and leans slightly masculine due to the vetiver and lavender, though it wouldn’t go amiss on a woman either. It’s not excessively youthful. Ideal for the office or semi-formal gatherings. Longevity is average for a citrus, around four to five hours. Top-tier aromatic quality.
Footnote: It seems some people have taken to thinking this perfume should smell of gin and tonic or juniper berries. I recommend they re-read the name and ingredients, which will tell them that tonic can be enjoyed without gin.
A delicious and refreshing scent that evokes a summer afternoon on a terrace with something cold, citrus and mint. But it has a drawback… its performance is weak. It acts more like a cologne due to its poor sillage and short longevity, which makes me advise against buying it, as its price is too high for the performance it delivers. So… it smells wonderful, but lasts as long as a summer romance.
