I thought the oud might be an issue given how animalistic it often is, but I jumped in blindly and have no regrets: it’s a marvel. Cardamom dominates with a floral touch, while the vanilla and cinnamon are barely noticeable. The oud is hardly felt, merely providing a woody base. It’s a Western fragrance with modern, elegant oriental accents.

  2. A sample arrived, and without seeing the notes, I imagined a green juice, like celery. Once dried, it becomes more masculine, with dry woods, cardamom, and something earthy. It’s complex, but the base (coffee-cardamom-wood) doesn’t quite convince me; it reminds me of burnt rubber. Curious, because based on the notes I thought I’d like it, but I wouldn’t recommend buying it blindly.

It was my first niche try alongside Godolphin. From the first spray, I loved it; it smells very refined, elegant, and classy. If I could afford the price, I’d buy it to wear with formal attire in cold weather. At least with the decant I have, the scent is too potent for use in the heat.
