Bentley for Men by Bentley is a spicy oriental fragrance for men. Launched in 2013, this composition was created by perfumer Nathalie Lorson. Its top notes unfold with bay leaf, black pepper and bergamot; the heart reveals rum, cinnamon, woody notes and clary sage; while the base settles on leather, benzoin, patchouli and cedar.

I tried it yesterday and it reminds me very much of Xeryus Rouge by Givenchy. A good distinctive and different aroma… I think I will buy it.
Rum, cinnamon, and wood: those are the clear notes. The Intense has many praises (I haven’t tried it), but this one has delighted me. It lasts more than 10 hours on skin in cold weather. I imagine greater performance at higher temperatures, and the projection is acceptable for the first 4 hours. For the price, it is a bargain: it performs well and is all-terrain, suitable for day and night, all year round. The nose is Natalie Lorson, the same as Encre Noire. Bentley for Men has nothing to do with Encre Noire, except that both have outstanding quality-to-price ratios.
I would turn it around and say it is an Oriental Spiced fragrance. What a bomb this Bentley is. I had never tried it until yesterday and wow… It is an explosion of rum-soaked leather, cinnamon, pepper, and benzoin. It smells more like benzoin to me than incense. It reminds me a lot of Armaf Oud, but more ordinary and loud. It goes in the line of Opium EDP but more for a younger audience. I love bold scents, but this one felt suffocating to me quickly. I don’t know if it’s the climate or it just doesn’t suit me, but I wouldn’t use it because it overwhelms me. It lasts more than 16 hours: 4 hours with heavy trail, 6 moderate, then drops to skin-level. I find no similarity with Dior Fahrenheit Le Parfum or Gucci Envy; for me, it is more Armaf Oud and Opium EDP.
Same DNA as the Intense: exquisite woody liquor, adult and elegant. The Bentley For Men line reflects the brand: quality, class, maturity, and elegance. It always delivers 100%. Unlike the Intense, it is lighter and more versatile, even for spring nights. A very good option for business or the office; you convey class and good taste. Longevity superior to 12 hours and excellent trail at a Seat price.
It is a noble fragrance that stands out among others in its range and superior ones. It lasts 6 hours with moderate projection. It is more delicate than the Intense, less boozy, with a sweet and pleasant leather, balanced and wearable during the day. It is little known and a pity, offering so much for its price. It is elegant and classy, less overpowering than the Intense, which shares 70% of its characteristics. It is a high-level alternative to advertised and expensive products. If the Intense is for special occasions, this is the ideal Bentley for everyday life.
I don’t know how a Bentley Continental smells, but I imagine it must smell like this perfume: leather and rum with a touch of cinnamon. The bottle is a delight, inspired by car controls, especially the cap which resembles the start button. It captivated me without even trying it, as the Intense overwhelmed me before. I bought it at a department store where the scents are intensified. I decided to try it based on the reviews and that magical touch of old barbershop soap it has. On my dry skin, with 4 sprays, it lasted 8 hours smelling all day, which I appreciate because I don’t notice I’m wearing it until I apply it. Sometimes it reminds me of mixing Opium and Obsession by CK, but more sophisticated and less overpowering than the Obsession, enhanced in the dry-down by that old soap. I will continue to try more Bentley options.
Upon waking, I sense a sweet, enveloping, balsamic scent, very feminine yet sensual. When I smelled my dryer sheets, I discovered it was them. The scent on the sheet is minimal, but in the morning it’s fantastic, dreamlike, like a silky veil with spices and incense, sweet and creamy. After testing it against the Intense, I kept this one: more trail and longevity. The anecdote is that I sleep with dryer sheets and one day noticed that sweet, warm scent, like the light of dawn in an orchard. It’s incredible how a perfume can evoke that. There are no fruits, but the alcohol note reminds me of dried grapes. It’s fantastic, with one of the best dry-downs I own, well-balanced and with good longevity. Despite not noticing the bergamot, there’s a hint of laurel that makes it feel masculine. In its dry-down, many women would try it because the leather is creamy, not macho-man. It’s versatile, intimate, perfect for elegant dinners or close-to-the-skin wear. Romantic, almost like VA Midnight in Paris.
Who would have thought a car manufacturer could produce something so good and affordable? Bentley for Men is spectacular, evolves beautifully on the skin, and smells of pure luxury. I recommend buying it blindly; given the price, it’s impossible to go wrong.
I bought it blindly out of curiosity and the reviews, and I absolutely love the box and bottle. However, the scent is too strong; it smells of rum and woods at full blast. I can’t see how I would use it and I don’t understand why people find it pleasant.
Blind buy, very happy. Rum, cinnamon and leather, I think it’s ideal for the cold. What about the car manufacturers that make such good perfumes?
I first heard about it from YouTubers discussing the Intense, but once I tried it, I was blown away. The rum scent is incredibly seductive and masculine; it’s not subtle at first and might not suit everyone, but it has an exclusive air. It doesn’t last as long as the Intense, but it still lasts several good hours. I see it as ideal for a Caribbean setting or gatherings with friends, though I’d avoid it for a first date.
Opening of pure rum, but the good kind, not the kind I used to drink at 16. Then it tames down and leaves a very refined dry-down. I don’t have the Intense version as it gave me the feeling of being too versatile, everything will turn out fine, of course this one is perfectly valid for the office.
It has surprised me quite a bit, smells very good and that rum gives it a special touch. Next time I might try the Intense.
Bentley for Men is a rather serious and rich fragrance, regardless of its notes and ingredients. It’s a ‘dry’ aroma, sweet, rum (alcohol), deep spice and woods, that’s what I perceive. CLASS: 9.2/10 ELEGANCE: 8.9/10 VERSATILITY: 4/10 MATURITY: 9.5/10 QUALITY: 8.7/10 BOTTLE: 9/10 SCENT: 9.3/10 LONGEVITY: 8.5/10 TRAIL: 8/10 PRICE: 10/10.
Let me say that this fragrance disappointed me at first and I’ll explain why. I bought it blind after seeing the good reviews from users and YouTubers. My first sensation seeing the box and bottle was very positive, everything very well presented. When I opened the cap and pressed the atomiser, I received the first blast and felt that scent was very familiar to me. For a while I used M7 by Yves Saint Laurent and the first notes of this perfume were too similar; I made the mistake of not applying it to my skin thinking it was practically the same. Sincerely, after this, I put it away for a while. A few days later I wanted to give it another chance and applied it. The first notes remind me a lot of M7, but then it evolves into a marvel when dry. Here lies its true personality, it becomes a soft, slightly sweet, very enchanting aroma. At that moment it’s for close distance, emitting a clean, friendly, slightly sweet scent, with some feminine touches and very romantic. The truth is, the final trail on my skin has fallen in love with me. Highly recommended for the price it’s worth.
It’s the softer sibling of Bentley Intense. It smells very similar but more subtle as an EDT, better for personal enjoyment than for others as it doesn’t have a great trail, but it has great longevity. On clothes it can last for days. It’s more versatile than the Intense, can be worn any day and time as long as it’s not too hot. I give it an 8.5/10.
I first went for the Intense version due to the hype. The problem was that my girlfriend, although she loved it, got a headache after a few hours. So I went with this eau de toilette and the problem is solved. As many have said, this one is more balanced. Both are excellent, they’re 90% identical, but the Intense has an ‘enormous’ trail with just 2 sprays and the rum predominates. With this (toilette), 3 sprays give a moderate trail, 5 sprays are heavy, and the leather and cinnamon feel equal to the rum. The longevity is equally good, around 24 hours on skin. To conclude, although bergamot is last in the notes, I sense it very strongly during the first hour.
I bought it blind just based on the comments and videos and I loved it. My first impression made me flip out, but I bought it today and need to see how it evolves. I’ll share my experience soon.
I bought it blind and initially it didn’t do much for me, but over the days I began to decipher it. The opening is super complex, featuring that uncommon leather that evolves into a sweet, masculine scent – not the typical vanilla of today, but with a bitter base. I recommend it for those over 25, suitable for semi-formal or formal occasions; it has limited versatility. Although it’s an EDT, the trail is brutal and more than 4 sprays give me a headache. Ideal for cold weather and freezing nights; I imagine it with a shirt or leather jacket – in fact, the scent soaked into my jacket over a month ago. I don’t recommend buying it blind as it can be complex for some and lingers on clothes for days; if you don’t like it, the smell can become suffocating. If I were to summarise it in one word: elegant.
@Xavo, does the description suggest you’re talking about Bentley for Men INTENSE???
I bought it blind based on reviews, but at home it was a disaster. Notes of rum, leather, wood, laurel, bergamot, and cinnamon… only a bloodhound can perceive them. To me, it just smells like incense sticks. If you like that smell and want to smell like it all day (because it lasts all day), buy it. If not, don’t even think about it. I regret buying it.
I bought it months ago in autumn-winter and at first I didn’t like it; it’s not my type. But yesterday and today in spring I tried it and found it better. It still hits hard at first, but the dry-down delighted me, moving away from that typical vanilla sweetness I dislike. Brutal performance: the first hour floods the room with 4 sprays and leaves a noticeable trail. After an hour it drops but remains noticeable for 5 or 6 hours, clinging to skin for a hard 10 hours and on clothes for days. I’m not one to pigeonhole, but this has an air of formality or ‘bad boy’, ideal with a leather jacket on a motorbike. The magic of olfactory memory.
N. Lorson’s creations are on another level. If the Encre Noir trilogy was an anthology, Bentley doesn’t fall behind. This isn’t a twin of the Intense; it’s more versatile and less invasive. Both are hard to define which wins, but this one is definitely for ‘buy blind’. It can even be worn in spring in Chile. Decent projection and longevity. I’d buy it again. For those over 30.
I’ll be brief: strong, masculine, long-lasting. Watch out with the sprays, not everyone likes it, but it’s brilliant and economical.
It’s a strong, fortified, woody fragrance with incredible longevity and projection. It’s exquisite.
Under 40s should abstain. It smells very similar to the Intense, almost identical once dried. Perhaps the Intense comes out more alcoholic, but it evens out afterwards. It’s for formal events, for made men who can take a cognac without blinking. The sweetness makes it addictive, but measure your sprays or you’ll suffocate. Not very versatile, for winter. Quality far above its price. The bottle is beautiful, mimicking the car’s button panel.
I bought it when it was cheap in Argentina; nowadays prices have skyrocketed everywhere. The scent took my fancy, I thought about selling it, but over time I understood it. It’s for cold seasons and informal wear. It has good longevity and projection.
Sorry for the tone, but this perfume is bloody brilliant. It opens with a weak citrus sparkle that highlights a complex leather, animalic due to the oud, like freshly tanned hides. It has spices, rum with honey and fruits, and a touch of resinous benzoin. It’s dry, leathery, and boozy, with barrel woods. Buy blind? Only if you like leather or spirits. If you’re looking for something sweet and easy, stay away. It’s great for dates if you know how to dress and carry yourself with class. It won’t earn free compliments, but if you smell good and act well, people will notice. Not for the office or summer. Worth it, though the Intense is smokier. I prefer this normal version, more tamed and versatile. Nathalie Lorson and Lalique really nailed it. It’s better than Dior or Armani and costs half the price. The bottle is luxury Lalique glass. It’s the last Coca-Cola of the desert. Save Bentley. Imagine Daniel Craig in a trench coat, leather gloves, and a glass of spirits.
It’s not for kids or those who like sweet fragrances… it has incredible projection and longevity. In my case, I prefer it to the Intense version, which feels too overwhelming to me. It’s a tremendous perfume.
Bentley for Men is intense, almost ethereal due to that strong rum that defines it. If you over-spray, it smells like you’ve downed a whole bottle at first. But an hour later, the woods and leather balance it out, making it sensual. In the end, a marked sweetness from the rum remains. Projection and trail are brutal if you don’t overdo it. It’s for parties, bars, or confident dates, nothing for the office. It’s masculine, though some women might like it. The Intense version is a nuclear bomb, almost impossible to tolerate.
After approx one month of use: Unpleasant smell for the masses, the rum feels for approx half an hour, then it’s like smelling laurel, with fresh spices and something sweet. Longevity 8-10h on skin, projection isn’t the beast they say not even close, sillage neither. Intimate to moderate potency perfume. To use semi-formal in transition seasons (in winter it’s not recommended, the smell is ‘subtle’, ‘volatile’, I don’t know how to explain it, but since it’s not dense, nothing is appreciated, it leaves no sillage nor projects). Approx cost 30 dollars. They are totally worth it. More than that… it shouldn’t cost. The Intense is better, I’ll review that one later.
The truth is, this perfume has the best liquor note on the market. That rum is unbeatable, it’s composed of aldehydes, fruity notes, acetates, plum, peach, honey… The leather is perceived as new leather, smelly, well tanned. Fine woods, like from a liquor barrel. Fresh bergamot and laurel, juicy, a fine, natural patchouli, sublime amber, a somewhat synthetic cinnamon but with a brutal finish, amazing… Regarding the previous comment, done lightly: I don’t see why it wouldn’t be attractive to the masses, but I understand why they think so: they are scents far from the present, where everything smells like dessert, grape gum or metallic citrus. Bentley For Men transports us to a shoe shop where a worker drinks a drink just about to close. The Intense isn’t better either, it depends on the context: if they want brute power, beast mode, I recommend the Intense. If they want the same DNA but a thousand times more versatile and not so aggressive nor heavy, the EDT. And no, don’t expect the EDT to project like the Intense. As my namesake Don Javier Orgaz would say, perfume isn’t necessarily to project a line to Pepe Le Pew… And frankly, even if it cost 70 USD, they would be worth it. (Don’t expect the EDT to last less than the Intense, they last the same but Intense projects more and is heavier).
Rich perfume and in my modest opinion has nothing to envy from the Intense. This one wins in versatility by carrying that rum note more reduced. A great masculine perfume in any way, for cold seasons. The leather, rum and cinnamon make it addictive. Longevity 7-8h and projecting well for the first 2 hours. Highly recommended, but not to buy blindly. Rating: 8.8/10.
Tested in decant. It has surprised me for the better. I had 0 expectations because I thought it would fall into something simple sweet and without grace, and yet, it is a sweet but elegant, formal, masculine and mature aroma. I wouldn’t use it in summer, but it’s ideal to wear in a suit, well dressed, to events in winter, autumn and spring nights. Looking forward to trying the Intense version which must be a bomb.
Another magnificent proposal from Nathalie Lorson, along with her Encre Noire (both from Lalique) form the dynamic duo of Notino. They should be sold in a pack. I bought the For Men version blindly because I read that the Intense was too strong and less versatile, despite both smelling the same. This one is strong, only in the opening, which reminds of the classic YSL Opium from the 70s, that’s why they say it smells like an old lady’s perfume. The similarity doesn’t last, don’t worry. In the dry down it transforms into a very wearable and modern sweet, with an air of Daarej by Rasasi (copy of Valentino V). A sweet rum, nothing alcoholic, protagonist along with cinnamon and cedar. I expected something stranger and more challenging due to its fame, and for nothing. It doesn’t smell like drunk or old; I think it’s less versatile than they say. I find it more enjoyable in the afternoon/evening in autumn. It’s totally away from current fashion, I don’t think there’s anyone smelling like you. Good longevity, about 7h with 4 sprays, perhaps it doesn’t project much (a positive thing for me). I paid 16€, it’s worth infinitely more. Buy it blindly, what else does it matter at that price?
Warm, mature, masculine. To wear in autumn and winter, perhaps cold spring, at night. It’s the Man in Black style, but more liquorish and cosy, they aren’t the same, don’t hate me the fans of that Bvlgari, but Bentley for Men has much of what was lost in its aromatic cut from the Bvlgari and that it should never have removed. I speak of the style, it’s not a one-to-one comparison. Bentley is attractive, a perfume that should cost more, especially due to the rumours of price reduction for the more hyped INTENSE version. Liquorish, woody, but not cloying, well balanced. A perfume with those notes could fall into exaggeration in intensity, but I think the perfumer did their job. I even see it on female skins, that shows how well structured it is; it’s not unisex either. I recommend trying it and having it, don’t let it be withdrawn prioritising its brother Intense, the bestseller. It’s more versatile, even more economical. Usable in cold, daytime and nighttime; I see the Intense more for night owls looking for something dense but that can tire if used frequently. Low point: performance and projection are just, or rather what one would wish to enjoy a tasty aroma.
A masterpiece. At 14-18€ on Notino, it is the best value for money on the market. It has evolution, lasts 24h+ on clothes and projects easily for 2h. The dry down is addictive. Sweet honeyed with a good rum alcoholic tone, without smelling like drunk. It distils class and good taste. For all ages in autumn, winter, spring and summer nights. What a jewel.
Unlike the Intense, the opening is fresher thanks to the citrus being more noticeable, making it more versatile and wearable. The rum and leather play to their full glory, with nuances of patchouli and spicy touches. It doesn’t have great evolution and the dry down occurs in 20 minutes, staying linear until time passes and a shower with two washes of the shirt removes the scent. Excellent projection and sillage, fills a room for hours; if you leave clothes there, you’ll smell them for days. I recommend controlling the sprays to enjoy it and not feel suffocated.
It’s strange. When I smell it, my breathing opens up (I have an allergy to the weather) like with Vicks, mint or eucalyptus, but it doesn’t smell like that. It seems familiar, slightly sweet, fresh and alcoholic. It feels masculine without being rough, with an air of a hospital or consulting room (it doesn’t fall into that, I just imagine it due to the rum). It’s complex and perhaps it is. I think the problem is that I don’t know what to use it for; it doesn’t connect with my personality. It has little evolution. It’s for autumn/winter (or without heat), not too warm, in a fresh-warm balance. For someone adult, over 25 years old with a defined personality. 100% masculine without being coarse, elegant. The rum predominates without being excessive (alcoholic note), accompanied by wood, pepper and a faint touch of cinnamon. I don’t detect the citrus. Good longevity, little projection and sillage, it’s a personal bubble, don’t abuse with sprays. It’s not rich nor unpleasant to me, it’s interesting and generates intrigue when smelled, that’s the personality I’m trying to discover (it was easier with Bentley Absolute). It depends on one making it shine to receive compliments. In the end, I gifted it to my father; it took him time to accept it on his nose, it’s my thing with perfume hahaj. If you know these profiles, it can be very good. It’s not a bad fragrance, just on my nose those liquor notes don’t work, I tried them on a Givenchy and it was also difficult, a bit less because it didn’t have cinnamon, but it’s constant that I don’t connect with rum or warm/sweet liquor notes.
I took this out of my collection. Not joking, it is true niche quality. The opening is very poor. At this price (it costs 50€ in Mexico, it should be 25-30€) and in this line, I prefer Essencial Elixir, Natura, Avon Segno original, Black Suede Intense, Banderas The Icon, Jafra Absolute Leather or Yves Rocher Ambre Noir. Even Axe de Cuero and Galletas smells better. Blessings.
