I picked this up for £15 during a Wal-Mart clearance sale. It smells like sawdust mixed with glasses of whisky and vanilla cream. I found it relaxing and wearable with average projection. Could you ask for more from a department store aftershave? It exceeds expectations, is affordable and practical; plus, if you let it macerate a bit, it lasts quite a while.
It smells like a distillery, those barrels where whisky is aged. Very masculine, with a strong bourbon note at first that blends with spices and vanilla (though they don’t list it in the notes). The dry down is pure oak, like literally smelling a piece of oak furniture.
I bought this fragrance on Amazon following PH.d TV’s recommendations and Fragrantica reviews. Initially, the alcohol is strong and fades quickly, but leaves a delicious spicy scent reminiscent of Kenzo Aqua’s nutty notes that lasts about half an hour. Then comes the bourbon (to me, it smells like rum) mixed with a vanilla sweetness, and by the second hour the oak is rich on the skin, even if it’s close. My disappointment was that by the third hour it barely lingered. It would be fantastic with better longevity and projection, but for a short date or personal use, it works well if applied moderately. Edit 26/04/2022: After several months of use, I correct myself to say that now the longevity and projection are super good; if overapplied, it becomes an unbearable bomb. I’ve already received compliments without asking for this potent fragrance.
