Bottega Veneta Pour Homme smells very deep, sensual, and with great presence. Lately I’ve been smelling it all day because my partner bought it in Andorra after trying 200 perfumes; he guides himself solely by what it smells like, after all we all do almost the same, but I didn’t expect that when he turned the bottle around he’d see the price and ask why it cost so much, used to Joop, Montblanc, and Loewe. I told him this house makes everything it has good and they make you pay for it, I didn’t know what else to say, he nodded and took it. He also thought of an exclusive edition of Penhaligon Portraits Collection with a tiger cap which isn’t here, but that was even more expensive, although they all smell glorious. On his tanned skin it’s a night scent when it cools down, which suits him wonderfully. Elegant in itself with the leather and herbal notes, it’s luxurious. As a signature fragrance it’s tremendously elegant, the finish is sweet but herbal. It lasts hours and hours on his skin, not on mine, as expected. I encourage you to try it, it’s one of the best I’ve smelled for men recently.
I see it as basically elegant. A fragrance with presence that looks good, and given that it was created by two noses, it’s not surprising. This flanker in parfum stands out much more than the previous versions, which compared to it seem very light for me. It has many advantages, especially because it serves for various uses. However, there’s something I no longer quite like: that pine resin added, which seemed very strange when the EDT launched. I don’t understand how a fragrance that works so well with leather and tobacco (an undeclared but very present note) suddenly gets invaded by something green, although it is true that for lovers of winter leather, having alternatives is good. Bottega Veneta Pour Homme Parfum comes to give more competition in its sector. I’ve tried it many times since its launch in 2017 and I like it a lot, but just like the EDT, there’s something in the heart notes that leaves me indifferent.
I love it. Simple, dark, elegant, and with a modern touch. Upon application, it smells of tobacco as Juancar says: dry, spiced, rustic, with an almost citrusy cardamomo. The blend is addictive; I can’t stop smelling my wrist. It has an ecclesiastical, resinous, and potent air, with pine and musk. Over time (slow and soft), it becomes creamier with a fine vanilla. It’s a kind and sexy masculinity. Classic but modern, without falling into generic vanillas or musks. It doesn’t smell of dirty leather or too sweet. Delicate, balanced, and sober. At first, it recalls the leather-spiced of the old Fahrenheit (Guilty Absolute reminds me of the leather-gasoline of that one, but this Bottega is greener and rougher). Probably for people 25 and over. It’s not the most original thing in the world, but it makes you noticed. It fixes well and projects just enough. With three sprays, it lasts ten hours. It doesn’t have much sillage but it’s noticeable without bothering, so it’s good for work, although winter nights are its place. It’s expensive, but not that much (by the way, at Julia a 50 ml cost 10 euros less than an equal Dior Homme Parfum). Highly recommended. 8.5/10
I’ve just received my first Bottega Veneta Pour Homme Parfum. I bought it based on reviews and I wasn’t wrong. It’s an elegant fragrance, certainly it doesn’t go unnoticed, something sweet and very good, sober, and I can’t stop running my hand through it to feel its trail.
A sophisticated leather scent with a rough undertone reminiscent of Varvatos Dark Rebel Rider, yet softened by cardamom and tonka bean. Not quite as abrasive as the original, making it versatile and elegant for suits, leather jackets, or underground settings. In my experience, it doesn’t project much of a trail, though I find it perfect for evening wear.
A very elegant leather with a rough background similar to Varvatos Dark Rebel Rider, but here nuanced with cardamomo and tonka bean. It’s not as harsh as the Varvatos, making it a versatile and elegant fragrance to wear with a suit, look good in a leather jacket, or for more underground environments. In my case, it doesn’t project much of a trail. Despite this, I see it as a night fragrance.
The opening is exquisite: creamy, deep, and spicy cedar, with a citrus touch from the cardamomo, highlighting that bitter wax facet this wood has and that I love. The pine resin appears without you realising, painting the scent with minty colours, of varnish, of oil paint, of syrup… a marvel. Slowly a deep, sweetened leather takes over and marks the way for the resins, which continue to accompany. The notes are tremendously realistic and high quality. It smells luxurious, has class, and although it’s very elegant and rather ‘mature’, it is by no means boring. It has body, richness of nuance, depth… I truly love it; even smelling it from the bottle is pleasant. But then there’s the big drawback of this house: the performance is miserable. It’s one of the times that makes me most angry, because it’s an absolute gem and that’s what stops me from buying it (plus I think I’ve read they’ve discontinued it). I’ll settle for the mini sizes I have, to continue enjoying it from time to time.

Choosing a new fragrance is complicated, especially if you struggle to comfortably close your wardrobe drawer and think about leaving the shop with more boxes. Many don’t realise that perfume is an invisible part of our style and has a powerful effect on how people remember you. Furthermore, it can help attract the opposite sex: a man uses his eyes first, but a woman uses her nose. Women have a finer sense of smell, so perfume enhances the final impression. Looking for something elegant and versatile, I found Bottega Veneta. It’s a house with a good reputation but which, so far, hasn’t made great commercial strides. It smells luxurious and can be worn daily. It’s pleasant, but it doesn’t convey great sensations to me. Bottega Veneta Pour Homme is too tranquil; its longevity is unsatisfactory and it doesn’t project far from the skin, making it perfect for work or intimate moments. It’s a pity it has few attributes as I find it aromatically pleasing. It’s a woody fragrance with fir, pine, leather, and cardamomo, but everything is very light. Very balsamic and ethereal, fresh and even sexy. It would be a good option if it didn’t have such a faint sillage and a price that doesn’t compensate for the low performance. I won’t be buying it.
It retains a strong DNA of a cologne blend featuring leather and a faint camphor note. Potent at first, it becomes more balanced over time, spiced with nutmeg and cardamom. It recalls AdP but with greater personality and original nuances. I find it extremely versatile and masculine, ideal for temperate climates. Its performance is good, and as my first foray into this house, it delivers on quality. I would certainly add it to my collection. Rating: 8/10
It retains a lot of the original cologne’s DNA, blended with leather and a touch of camphor. Intense at first, it balances over time, becoming spiced with nutmeg and cardamomo notes. It reminds me of AdP but with more personality and original nuances. I find it super versatile and masculine, though it shines more in temperate climates.
