  • For the price, I expected a great trail or at least more than five hours of longevity, but on the skin it doesn’t even reach that; after four hours, it’s just a skin scent. That said, as I tested it on clothes, it needs washing a couple of times to remove the smell. The scent is very rich, with floral notes and that fresh touch of what I imagine is bergamot, though it’s so camouflaged by the fig leaf that it doesn’t stand out. Is it a rich smell? Yes. Would I buy it again? Certainly not at the current price, but if it were more affordable, I would.

  • Illusion is a pleasant fragrance where the fig leaf takes centre stage. However, the citrus and fruity notes give it a slightly sweet touch that, without being cloying, leans it towards a more traditionally feminine profile compared to classics like Philosykos or Un Jardin en Méditerranée. I also feel it lacks the strength and personality of Womanity. The trail is good, though the longevity is disappointing for the price. In summary, it’s a pretty perfume, perfect for hot days, but despite this and fig perfumes being my favourites, it didn’t blow me away. Pleasant: 7/10, Interesting: 4/10, Versatile: 6/10, Original: 6/10.

Illusion is a lovely, fresh, and herbal fragrance. It opens green with semi-sweet citrus notes; a sharp lime and orange juice burst upon spraying. As it settles on the skin, it becomes green and herbal with fruity accents, highlighting the fig leaf alongside the orange blossom and that juicy touch. After half an hour, it softens and the citrus fades, leaving a lightly sweetened herbal aroma. The longevity is short, lasting no more than three hours on the skin, with a weak trail throughout; ideal for cooling down on hot days and reapplying every three hours. It’s not easy to find; I only tried a 5ml decant. I love it, but the performance makes me hesitate to buy it. Undoubtedly, it’s a beautiful interpretation of fig. Curiously, as it dries on my skin, it reminds me a lot of YSL’s Libre EDT, with a faint lavender touch despite not being listed.
