Azalea was love at first sniff. I know I have a penchant for sweet fragrances, but here everything is so well integrated that I can’t classify it as vanilla-based. I usually enjoy nutty notes, but I have issues with chestnut; it always conjures up something warm mixed with sweat. Back to the point, the excellent work by Alexis Didier (creator of other scents in this line) makes Azalea my favourite from the Parco Palladiano collection so far (I’ve tried 6 and love 5). All its components are so well blended that none stand out; the chestnut has the perfect balance with the vanilla, and I assume the rhododendron note is what does the magic. The scent is creamy, sweet, slightly powdery and dry, and mixed with the fruity (but not juicy) notes of peach and tangerine, it gives an aura of medicinal caramel, nothing gourmand. A wonderful composition that perfectly complements the other fragrances in the line, all unique and magical, pure olfactory experiences.
