Fancy by Jessica Simpson

I tried it blind based on positive YouTube reviews, but I didn’t like it. It’s a 12-hour vanilla, but the top notes smell like artificial peach, similar to car air freshener. Once dried down, only caramel, almond, and vanilla remain. I preferred it in its dry phase; it’s more suitable for autumn and winter. If you’re on a tight budget and want something long-lasting for everyday wear, it might serve you well. If you already have a large collection, you might end up gifting it, as I did. People say older batches were better; mine was from 2022 and, although it macerated slightly, it only improved a little. I never wore it on nice days, so I gifted it away.

A perfect combination of fruity, vanilla, and something creamy and milky. The top notes are fruits, like pear and strawberry, but natural, with no cheap spray artificial smells. Once dried down, the fruits remain and blend with vanilla and a milky note like cream, with a touch of white floral.

A sweet, gourmand yet elegant and sophisticated aroma. It’s very pleasant, but unfortunately, one note (perhaps the sandalwood) gives me severe nausea and headaches. I can’t tolerate it, which is a shame because it smells delicious 🙁

The old batch was excellent: delicious pear top notes, caramel with almond, and a powdery vanilla dry down; great sillage and longevity. I bought a recent batch from 2023 and the liquid smells weak, super clear like water. Perhaps it needs more maceration, but the top notes reveal alcohol, a strange pear, and a formless sweetness. The final vanilla is a bit cloying, nothing like the old one. Longevity and sillage are average.

A very elegant gourmand that I fell in love with. Sophisticated caramel with gardenia and vanilla top notes. Extremely addictive; if I had to choose one perfume for the rest of my life, it would be this. I bought it because they said it smelled like custard, and it was true: it smells like custard with white flowers on top, an elegant and sweet dessert. MY FAVOURITE PERFUME; it’s exquisite, lasts more than 8 hours, and is perfect.

Delicious; the burnt almond really comes through on the skin, but unfortunately it only lasts a breath.

Very sweet with good longevity and projection. Smells delicious and what I smell most is the caramel; it reminds me a bit of Viva La Juicy. It’s very versatile and the price is excellent for the quality.

Super sweet and very linear. It’s for daily wear, very similar to others on the market. I like it; it has good coverage and longevity at a good price, but don’t expect anything special.

This scent proves that ‘taste breaks down genres’. Reviews are positive and they call it a ‘good low-cost scent’; for me it’s just cheap because I find an extremely sweet essence without identifying any floral accords. On my skin it’s vanilla with sandalwood. No matter how many chances I gave it, I couldn’t identify anything pleasant.

I started with Esika or L’bel, then tried Cloud by Ariana and loved it, but in cold weather it felt overwhelming. Afterwards I tried Bright Crystal Absolut by Versace, Coach New York and LVEB by Lancome, and none worked. I went back to Ariana with Ari, but it didn’t reach Cloud, my favourite (I also had the Intense, but it loses a bit of the touch). I think the problem was the florals, so I returned to moderate-priced sweet/fruity scents: Fancy. The first spray smelled strongly synthetic with a hint of ‘retro’, but not outdated. Almost immediately I sensed vanilla, sweetness, but couldn’t decipher what it was. Over time the fruity notes arrive, very nice, seems pear, then peach in syrup. It has an air of Cloud, but without the whipped cream creaminess. For the price it’s very good. I’ll update later on projection, trail, compliments and longevity. 😊

I bought it based on good reviews; it’s powdery and a bit sweet, but it just doesn’t convince me. I wouldn’t recommend buying it blindly.

Fancy is floral to me, not a sweet bomb, but be warned: it’s caramel and powder. The herbal opening threw me off; it reminded me of Ralph Lauren’s Woman, but after half an hour it sweetens into powdery caramel. I don’t see the extraordinary projection they claim, yet it generates many compliments; even if it seems it doesn’t project, it does. It’s worth it, casual, versatile, and good value for money. I’ll probably buy it again. For lovers of powdery sweetness.

Lots of delicate gourmand vanilla, not the typical cheap oven-baked essence. Barely bright with fruit at the start (seconds, nothing acidic, always sweet). On my skin, after a while it smells like sweat as it evolves (very rare, happened with O’Boticario’s Egeo Vanilla Vibe, must be my pH), then it fades and leaves a pastel vanilla with a touch of white flowers; you have to hunt for it. What a pity about the short duration and poor trail. In summary, linear: vanilla with toffee caramel, not cloying, tolerable and pleasant. Veryyy soft and subtle. I expected a bomb due to its fame… no! It lasts and projects like a body splash. I wouldn’t pay its price even if I were mad.

I don’t find it very youthful; it’s cloying and strong at first, but it’s a sweetness that later becomes more pleasant.

The best celebrity feminine perfume. Delicious caramel with vanilla, very powdery, not overwhelming but certainly very gourmand. Trail and projection are moderate but good. It was a blind buy because many girls recommended it in groups; it’s divine and the bottle is very pretty.
