Fancy Love by Jessica Simpson is an oriental floral fragrance for women. Launched in 2009, the nose behind this composition is Celine Barel. The top notes unfold with peach blossom, champagne, and bergamot; the heart reveals frangipani, jasmine, peony, lotus flower, and rose; while the base notes settle with amber, musk, woody notes, and patchouli.

  • It’s sweet. I detect notes of chocolate or caramel, although they aren’t in its base. It’s very similar to Burberry Weekend.

  • It is extremely pleasant. I find it sweet and simple, without being cloying or excessive. Personally, I have really enjoyed it.

I bought it and liked it, but soon I got bored and gifted it away. I regretted it and bought it again. I used it non-stop for weeks and then it stopped exciting me. I gifted it once more and now I admit I need it. I think it’s the top notes that don’t convince me, but the base notes fascinate me. It’s sweet, a bit powdery, and gives me a calming sensation. It’s one of the ones that works best with my chemistry; I received many positive comments. If I find it at a good price, I’ll buy it again so I never have to gift it away. Lesson learned.

When I first bought this fragrance, I liked it quite a bit, but after a short while I grew bored and gifted it away. Then I regretted it and bought it again. I used it non-stop for several weeks before losing my enthusiasm once more. I gifted it again, and now I admit I need it. I believe the reason is that I do not like the top notes enough, although the base notes fascinate me. It is sweet, slightly powdery, and provides a very calming sensation. It is one of the fragrances that works wonderfully with my chemistry, as I received countless compliments when wearing it. If I find it at a good price, I would buy it again so I never have to gift it away. Lesson learned.

  • I have a somewhat strange story with this perfume… it haunts me, as it were, for some reason it always finds its way back to me. A few months ago, I was eager to try it because the notes caught my attention, and the truth is I had had good experiences with other Jessica perfumes, so one fine day I received a small decant in an exchange and it seemed quite decent; I used it for a while and then gifted what was left. Weeks later, another package arrived containing another decant of Fancy Love; I used it little because it started to annoy me, and I decided to gift that too. Months later, I received another sample and yet another decant; by then, I was slightly put off and the situation began to seem odd xD. The point is, I was in a shop with a limited selection, I spotted a white box, and I asked the lady to show it to me… it was the damn Fancy Love box with the giant photo of Jessica Simpson!!! AAAH!!! lol. And well, as for the perfume, I would classify it as floral-gourmand, and the truth is I like the opening; it smells of peaches with cream, sweet yet slightly tart, but I cannot stand the base; it is a bit powdery and does not smell so good on my skin. That said, it lasts for hours and hours and hours… and hours!!! I believe it would last weeks and months if I never took a bath, haha. And well, let’s see, Jessica, of the fragrances I have tried, you have two good ones in my opinion: Fancy and Fancy Nights; but it is not that big a deal. Fancy Love does not like me and never will, please leave me alone!!!!!

  • I have a strange relationship with this perfume: it haunts me. It always finds its way back into my life. Months ago, I wanted to try it for the notes and my good experiences with Jessica, so I received it in a swap and found it decent; I used it for a while and then gifted it away. Then another package arrived with a different decant, which I used sparingly as it started to annoy me, so I gifted that too. Months later, yet another sample and yet another decant! The situation was becoming unbearable. The climax happened in a shop with a limited selection; I saw a white box and asked the girl to show it to me… it was the damn Fancy Love box with the giant photo of Jessica Simpson! AAAH lol. As for the scent, I classify it as floral-gourmand. I like the top notes: it smells like peaches with cream, sweet and slightly acidic. But I can’t stand the base; it’s powdery and doesn’t smell good on my skin. That said, it lasts for hours and hours and hours… and hours! I think it would last weeks if I didn’t shower. Of Jessica’s tested fragrances, two are good: Fancy and Fancy Nights, but not Fancy Love. I don’t like it and never will, leave me alone.

I am hugely surprised by this line. I never thought Jessica Simpson had such a pleasant range of scents. This particular perfume is one of those that smells the same from start to finish; its scent does not vary, let alone its longevity. I receive many compliments when I wear it. It is my second bottle, and I will continue buying it.

This fragrance is very lovely, soft, and sweet, certainly romantic. It’s ideal for spring. I think it’s the most romantic in the Jessica Simpson line. It smells like peaches with cream. Delicious.

  • Gaby Pedroza

I bought it thinking it would smell similar to Fancy, which I like a lot, but it didn’t. However, it’s quite an attractive scent: a mix of peaches with cream and jasmine at first. As it dries down, it becomes powdery and velvety. To my personal taste, it wasn’t captivating or mind-blowing, but I admit it draws a lot of attention. From day one, people asked me several times what perfume I was wearing. It’s very comfortable for everyday office wear and, speaking of price, it’s quite affordable. In those terms, I think it was worth it.

What a pleasant surprise to discover this fragrance! On my skin, I sense a clean floral aroma with a citrus touch and a very subtle champagne note. It’s not the typical sugary celebrity perfume for teenagers (I’m not criticising them; in fact, I own several and like them), though it does have a hint of sweetness, I find it more fresh. It reminds me very much of Burberry Women, especially in the dry-down. I see it as perfect for daily wear any time of year and for women of any age. Its longevity and projection are more than acceptable, and the quality-to-price ratio seems excellent.

  • My first Jessica Simpson perfume and it’s more than beautiful… It’s an extremely soft and special aroma that caresses your skin. I love it, from the scent to the bottle. It’s a very powdery floral with subtle sweet touches that make you fall in love.

A cocktail party in spring, at night. A peaceful garden. Me in a pretty dress, the fresh breeze caressing my hair. My date arrives, a pleasant gentleman, and we dance to a smooth jazz piece. That’s Fancy Love. If this perfume could write a story, this is how it would begin, end, or have its part. It’s a classy fragrance. I wouldn’t say elegant, but I’d wear it to a wedding, an important date, or an interview. It’s a delicious, fresh floral, like putting a necklace of scents around your neck. On my skin, the distinctive note was the peach blossom: so delicate and angelic. Then the amber took over; although I’m not a great devotee, I found it pleasant. Afterwards came the sparkling champagne, which I adored in Dazzle by Paris Hilton, but here it disappointed me a little; it’s not as delicious, though it does give a sparkly, distinguished, and feminine touch. The trail was discreet but pleasant and lasted 11 hours. Perfect for spring or summer. Very romantic, like a Hollywood summer movie.

  • I didn’t like it. At first, I loved it straight out of the bottle, but then it started to bother me. It smells wonderful in the bottle, but it just doesn’t work with my skin chemistry.

  • Fancy Love is elegant love! I own it and cherish it, but seeing that white and gold bottle made me have to try it… and I can’t believe it, I liked it more than the previous one; I felt a little unfaithful! What a delicious fragrance! Even testing the body mist in-store, I adored it, and the Eau de Parfum Concentré has more intensity. It’s alluring and versatile for casual night outings any time of year. Alongside the floral notes, that sweet English toffee touch gives it a gourmand vibe, though it’s an oriental floral. Launched in 2009, it has good projection: 4 hours on skin and 6 if you use the body mist or lotion beforehand. I keep the small atomiser in my bag to reapply without hassle. The opening is exquisite with bergamot, peach blossom, and champagne. It wraps you in a narcotic cloud of jasmine, lotus, rose, frangipani, peony… and the dry-down captivates with a romantic amber, patchouli wood, and musk. It’s elegant, delicate, enveloping, sophisticated; it feels like a mime or a caress that warms you. It has nothing to envy from a high-end perfume. It will stay in my collection. Applause to Celine Barel, a tremendous perfumer.

  • Of all the Jessica Simpson scents, Fancy Love is my top pick: rich, creamy, fruity, and soft. It lasts 4–5 hours on the skin and much longer on clothes. I wear it both at work and for going out. The bottle is beautiful and super elegant.

  • Update: this perfume arrived, so lovely, so tender, it was a gift for my mum and it didn’t last on her skin. BUT! Great to my advantage, it does last on me and smells beautiful. It maintains that delicate scent, it is true it doesn’t have great sillage, but whoever gets close will be able to sense a beautiful aroma… in my subconscious I wanted my mum not to keep the perfume… jijijiji… well now she tells me I owe her another. 😳 I sent orders for Fancy and Fancy Love blind; well, Fancy Love wasn’t entirely blind because I smelled a splash beforehand and liked its soft, delicate scent, but I didn’t apply it to my skin. I will tell you when they arrive.

October 2019 and I just discovered it. It is a very feminine, delicate, and subtle perfume. Its opening is peach with champagne, a very citrusy opening that then dries down and becomes woody. It is a fine perfume and I must say that after its opening note it is very similar to Burberry Weekend. Recommended for all-year use, it doesn’t give you a headache and is very pleasant to smell. For people who like gourmand scents, this is their perfume; it also smells like chocolate. With five applications it is perfect, moderate sillage, and approximate longevity of two hours, a little longer on clothes.

  • I received this perfume yesterday, I was so eager to try it. I bought it cheaply on Linio.cl… thank goodness! It is true that it has similarities with Burberry Classic, I even liked it more than the latter… BUT… It lasts nothing, smells of alcohol at first, then you appreciate the scent which is very feminine, delicate, fresh, and romantic. The champagne, peach blossom, and a slight amber are noticeable during the first two hours. Now, the other notes… nothing. It is very rich, but regarding quality, it is disappointing that such a lovely scent you cannot perceive or have people notice around you. Has this happened to anyone else in Chile?

  • The Fancy is very rich and its scent has a high-end appearance, but this one is very weak and its wild floral scent leaves much to be desired. I can’t find the champagne anywhere.

  • The Fancy smells very rich and gives a luxurious feel, but it fades very quickly and the wild floral notes don’t convince me 👎 I can’t detect any champagne

I had many expectations with this perfume, as I have seen in several reviews that it was one of the jewels of the Jessica Simpson line, which I am a huge fan of, but this left me a bit puzzled. It is a somewhat difficult, complicated scent, super creamy, and it gives me the sensation that it is THICK, I don’t know why. Perhaps I am more accustomed to super sweet perfumes and this one ultimately isn’t. I didn’t sense the champagne notes; it is more patchouli, like a creamy floral, so to speak. Scent 6/10. That said, its longevity is quite good; I feel it is a perfume more for winter or cool days.

  • Hello! I bought it along with Fancy Girl, blind. Although the other didn’t suit me at all, this one does; it has an ingredient that I find delicious on the first spray. Luckily I didn’t make a mistake twice.

  • Fancy Love is a sparkling, luminous peach, floral, with a powdery touch that makes it feel almost like a body lotion settled on the skin. The opening is fruity, like the fruit you smell in champagne or a soft drink: not 100% natural, but neither synthetic. The floral heart gives it a subtle, whitish halo, like the bottle. After two hours, in the dry down, it feels like a very rich musky wood. However, in my experience, it lives completely close to the skin. Its longevity leaves much to be desired; on me it doesn’t pass four hours, even with reapplication. It also has no sillage, which is why I relate it to a body cream. What is true is that its scent is very elegant. Under another brand, this perfume would sell for a fortune, and that is its virtue: it is at a good price. I bought it because they say it’s an exact dupe of the discontinued Taylor Swift Taylor, which I have grown tired of searching for and not finding. Otherwise, I would stick with Benetton’s United Dreams Together, which smells identical but with more strength due to a praline note. Fancy Love is very inoffensive and perfect for daily wear, despite its performance limitations. However, I don’t think I would recommend it altogether.

  • Fancy Love is a sparkling, luminous peach floral with a powdery touch that makes it feel like a body lotion settled into the skin. The opening is fruity, reminiscent of champagne fruit or a soft drink: not entirely natural, yet not synthetic either. The heart flowers give it a subtle, pale halo, just like the bottle itself. After two hours, as it dries down, it smells of rich musky wood. However, in my experience, it clings stubbornly to the skin; the longevity is quite a story. On me, it barely lasts four hours, even with reapplication, and it has no sillage, which is why I compare it to body cream. The truth is, the scent is very elegant. Under another brand, it would sell for a fortune, and that is its virtue: it is good value. I bought it because it is said to be an exact dupe of Taylor Swift’s Taylor, which I have grown tired of searching for without success. Otherwise, I would stick with Benetton’s United Dreams Together, which smells identical but with more punch due to a praline note. It is a very inoffensive perfume and perfect for everyday wear, despite its performance limitations. However, I do not think I would recommend it entirely.

  • I am fascinated by this perfume. It feels super creamy, soft, and feminine. It gives the sensation that champagne is mixed with cream or something similar. The tropical touch of frangipani is very pleasant. Also, the bottle is gorgeous.

  • Bought it because of the reviews claiming it smells like Burberry Woman. Truthfully, it’s similar but NOT the same. It’s from the same line; you can detect the champagne, amber, and peach notes; it’s quite creamy. A very feminine, elegant scent without being cloying. A perfect blend of fruity and floral, very chic. The longevity isn’t bad, though it doesn’t reach the eternal status of the original Burberry (lasts days on clothes, but it is an EDP). I recommend it for autumn-winter; in summer it can be very sweet and cloying.
