Tested right in the middle of winter and it’s an absolute vanilla bomb with sandalwood that smells of natural, rich vanilla. The base is orchestrated to highlight that creamy gourmand aspect, with a hint of liquor that isn’t the star but adds complexity. It’s elegant, neat, and of high quality, perfect if you’re looking for something proper without people talking behind your back. It smells very feminine on me, ideal for a bridesmaid, and although I haven’t tried it in summer, in the cold that boozy note is much appreciated.
What a delight! Although longevity isn’t its strong suit and the liquor note is barely noticeable, it’s not a simple vanilla. On my skin, it smells like spiced vanilla on velvet that dries down beautifully to blend with the sandalwood for creaminess. I’d place it between Spirituose Double Vanilla and Diorama, though those last longer. It’s pricey, but I picked it up in an outlet and have no regrets: people stopped me to ask what I was wearing, so it’s worth the find.
It’s a woody and powdery vanilla, delicious but somewhat simple. I don’t sense the boozy notes it promised; I expected something denser. It has a soft sillage and lasts 4-5 hours. If you’re looking for something similar at a tenth of the price, try Jessica Simpson’s Fancy or Yves Rocher’s Nuit Vanille (although it’s discontinued). It doesn’t deserve the 245 euros from Micallef. Scent 8/10, longevity 4.5/10, sillage 6/10, value for money 2/10, packaging 9/10. I wouldn’t buy it again.
I have the new version and it’s a genuine rip-off for the price: on my skin it doesn’t last even two hours and smells skin-close from the very first moment. Nothing like what it costs.
I’d say it’s unisex thanks to those boozy notes and the amber. It’s a very rich and long-lasting fragrance, with nuances reminiscent of Initio’s florals, very interesting.
