  • At first, I thought this would be my love in the collection of nine Yves Rocher fragrances, but it wasn’t. I found neither the passionate, greedy cocoa nor the seductive vanilla nor the strong coffee. Instead, I encountered a timid, pleasant creation that reminded me of Flower by Kenzo; not bad, but not what I was looking for. It lasts many hours but is very soft and barely noticeable when someone gets too close, although the wearer enjoys a sugary embrace for several hours. I believe it is also the most feminine in the new range.

I’ve just unboxed two bottles of this aromatic treasure. A coffee with soft vanilla wisps and all the power of a cocoa so powdery yet sweet, like pure cocoa dusted over it, yet so rustic and earthy, like rain-soaked soil. Guuaaauuu, what beauty. Very soft and long-lasting on my skin; I loved it.

  • I love it! I’d read several reviews and feared I wouldn’t like it, as one compared it to the discontinued Vanille Noire, which I hated. This perfume reminded me of Amor Amor, despite sharing almost no notes; perhaps they have the same sweetness and a vanilla that isn’t overly sweet. Rather, it seems strange to me but addictive. It was love at first sniff, and I bought it fearing it might cloy or bore me, but on the contrary, it has conquered me more each day. I can smell the delicious coffee and the cocoa too, though it’s a slightly bitter cocoa that I adore.

  • I already have the new Yves Rocher fragrance and it caught me off guard: it’s very original, smelling like nothing I know. It’s a sweet vanilla liquor (house-style bourbon) with cocoa and powdered coffee, plus a hint of pepper that gives it a more feminine touch. Ideal for elegant, determined women with personality and a mysterious air—not too young, not too old. It fits well with this brand’s Argan range; even without that note, they share that magical, oriental halo. I liked it; it’s not my favourite style, but it’s addictive. Recommended for those who enjoyed Vanille Noire.

  • Either the tester was in bad condition or it’s terrible, I’ve only detected a powdery scent that puts me off… phew

  • Either the tester was in bad condition or it’s terrible, I only smelled a powdery scent that put me off… phew.

  • What a delicious thing: chocolate, vanilla, coffee, powdery, sensual, warm… longevity and projection are more than acceptable.

  • So rich. In my opinion, the pepper stands out a bit, the cocoa accompanies everything, the coffee isn’t very noticeable but there is some lemon that suits it well, and the vanilla base… what can I say about Yves Rocher’s vanillas?

  • Sharing the review for the vanilla liqueur. Despite being linear, it has a certain mysterious and seductive character. I’d categorise it as moderately gourmand, though I don’t detect the coffee realistically; the cocoa is a little more noticeable. It doesn’t seem to perform badly. Curious.

  • I bought it for layering. I love Sable Fauve and Plein Soleil, so I decided to try it even though the sample didn’t seem special to me. Watch out: at first it smells like insecticide, but before it becomes unbearable, the vanilla and powdered cocoa take control and keep their promise. It’s linear like the other Yves Rocher scents, but wonderful. Moderate longevity, unisex, and great for giving that vanilla touch to perfumes like Zara’s Cherry Smoothie. Smelling it before buying is mandatory, but it’s not offensive. Incredible price and the whole line is great.

  • I bought it solely for layering. I’m in love with two of its siblings (Sable Fauve, a gem, and Plein Soleil), so I acquired it despite having tried it several times and not finding it special. Warning: in the first few minutes, Cuir de Nuit (thank goodness it doesn’t smell of leather) leans dangerously towards an insecticide scent. But before it becomes unbearable, the vanilla and cocoa powder take shape and keep their promise. It’s linear, like the others from Yves Rocher, but no less wonderful. Longevity is moderate, totally unisex. What interests me is that it works well with those needing that vanilla punch. I used it with the infamous Zara Cherry Smoothie, which lacks vanilla, and I liked the results. I recommend smelling it before buying, though it’s not offensive. The price is incredible. Any of this line is great.

  • Chocolate and vanilla with amber. The pepper is noticeable, the coffee barely so, almost like pure chocolate. It’s not sweet, but rather fortified, like a coffee or vanilla liqueur. Although I won’t declare it, it smells of treated wood. Is it too unisex? I don’t know; every time I wear it, I like it, but I feel strange. The opening is strong, petrol-like; you have to wait. The dry-down is lovely, mysterious, and warm. It’s an interesting bet, not for those seeking a sweet, feminine gourmand. Lately, I prefer fewer things. I keep wearing it because it hooks me, although I don’t know what will happen. The longevity is normal for how strong it starts: it lasts a morning or afternoon, fading to skin in a few hours.

  • Chocolate and vanilla with amber, unisex. The pepper is noticeable, the coffee barely so, potentially passing for pure chocolate. It’s not sweet but rather boozy, as others say. I imagine a coffee or chocolate liqueur. Although not listed, I find it woody, like treated woods. Perhaps too unisex for me? Every time I wear it I like it, but I also feel a bit strange. The opening is very strong, petrol-like; you have to wait to enjoy it. The dry-down is lovely, mysterious, and warm. It’s an interesting bet, but not for women seeking very feminine vanilla gourmands. Lately, my tastes have become more specific. I’ll keep wearing it because it hooks me, but I don’t know what the future holds. For how strong it starts, the longevity is average: one morning or afternoon, close to the skin, lasting a few hours.

  • My girlfriend, who is a fan of Nouveau Genre, gifted it to me and ‘shoved’ the tester down my throat. Upon analysing it, it smells of powdery chocolate and coffee, very rich. Although I won’t say it, the leather base is real and subtle, vanilla-scented and not cloying; everyone finds it incredible. Ideal for layering or on its own. It lasts over 8 hours with projection to a metre after the first hour. It’s unisex, linear, and perfect for an autumn afternoon in the park or a winter night at the cinema. Price: $18.

  • My girlfriend gifted this for me to try and convinced me to buy it (she is a fan of Nouveau Genre, what a find!). I analysed the notes: chocolate and coffee. A powdery and rich chocolate. As the name suggests, many friends say I smell excellent, with a leather base (though it’s not listed). I think the blend alludes to that leather: subtle, vanilla-infused, and not cloying. I recommend it for layering or alone. Longevity is over 8 hours, with a burst projection at a metre after the first hour. It’s unisex and linear. Ideal for a walk in the park in autumn with your partner or a winter evening watching films on the sofa. Price: $18.

  • Yasmin2015

Delicious, cosy, vanilla-scented, chocolatey, and talc-like; I sense a touch of leather. It could be unisex. It doesn’t evolve much, but lasts 7 hours on skin with a soft trail. I see it as similar to Amour de Kenzo, though not identical. I love it for fresh climates and daily use.

  • Yasmin2015

Delicious, cosy, vanilla, chocolate, and powdery, with a touch of leather. It doesn’t evolve much but lasts 7 hours on the skin with a soft trail. I see it in the style of Amour by Kenzo. I love it for fresh climates and daily wear.

  • Perfumiris

Powdery chocolate, as if you were stretching cocoa in your hand. I’d say it’s musky, but without the sweetness you might expect. I have the current light brown transparent bottle; the coffee is hardly detectable, perhaps only when it dries and you press your nose to it. I find it unisex and great for layering, though on its own it’s pleasant but nothing extraordinary and doesn’t last long. Anecdote: I was told it smells like my ‘Arabs’, but I don’t think it’s the same. It’s a matter of perception.

  • Dama Incognita

Vanilla, sugar, and cocoa with a suede base that gives it that powdery touch the name suggests. The coffee note is barely noticeable. It could be a younger sibling to Cuir Beluga or the SDV from Guerlain, but with a lower profile and weak longevity; however, at 10% of the price, the value is fair. Tip: if you like vanilla, pair it with the brand’s Vanille Bourbon gel and lotion to boost the projection.

  • Isabeau Lafontaine

Vanilla, cocoa and spices with a sparkling opening that soon settles into a sweet, enveloping aroma. What I notice most is the vanilla on my skin; I barely detect the coffee. It’s a totally winter and cosy scent, of blankets, fireside and high necks. Medium longevity and trail. Ideal for lovers of Yves Rocher vanillas.

  • Danielle_Gris

It’s lovely, but on my skin it comes out super musky and talcum-powdered, like the light version of Flower by Kenzo with a touch of bakery vanilla. I don’t perceive any declared notes, just sweet talcum powder. It’s not bad, but it’s like those fragrances you wear after a shower to feel clean or at night to sleep. Nothing to impress or feel elegant. Low trail, 2-6h longevity.

  • It smells like a vanilla malted with chocolate chips, very rich and warm. I like it a lot, but after a few hours, the pure vanilla emerges, like the VS body mist. It lasts about 5-6 hours.

  • I have the version in the new bottle and I suppose it wasn’t reformulated. It’s a vanilla oriental, nothing overwhelming and very linear, so it won’t change during its life; perhaps towards the end you might notice a hint of coffee, but it’s very subtle. I think it can be used all year round, during the cooler hours of the day.

  • EnvueltaEnSeda

A vanilla-chocolate treat, talcum-powdered and delicious with coffee hints, a wonder to repeat always, in my top 5 of favourites ^_^.

  • Truth be told, it’s a fantastic perfume; for the price, it’s a 10/10. It’s hard to believe, but with so many niche fragrances, people always stop me and ask about this one. It resembles Guidance by Amouage but with a very rich cocoa note 🤤.

  • Before Kayali and Vanilla 28, it was Amándome by Clerc Marie; I find a great similarity between both perfumes.

  • I almost bought it blindly, and well done for not doing so, because it smells very similar to Yara and a chocolate vanilla from Zara (perhaps the Sunset, I’m not sure). It opens with sensual cocoa and leather, dark but not heavy. The downside is it doesn’t last long, and eventually, the Yara Rosa scent remains, which I already own and doesn’t drive me wild like it does for most people.

  • Bravo! It’s a rich oriental fragrance. Simple yet very effective for cold afternoons and evenings. You can detect every component from start to finish. Not much more to say, in short, a delightful fragrance that lasts a treat.

  • thesongofhecate

The first time I tried it, it seemed like an ordinary scent, but upon returning to it, what a difference! I fell in love. It reminds me of my old favourite, YSL’s Black Opium, but here all the notes are present, with vanilla taking centre stage. I recommend it for day and night, but only in autumn and winter. I adore the bottle; it’s pretty and simple, just as I like things. Considering the projection, longevity and price, it’s excellent.
