Want by DSQUARED² is, without a doubt, one of my favourite perfumes. From the very first moment I tried it, I fell in love. It has a perfect balance between sweet and floral, with a hint of spice that gives it something unique. It’s not heavy, but it does have presence, so I like wearing it both during the day and for a special night out. What I adore is that it’s uncommon; it has that feeling of being sophisticated without being “too much”. Plus, it has incredible longevity, lasting all day without needing to reapply. For me, it’s the perfume I always want to wear because it makes me feel secure and elegant effortlessly. It’s a shame it’s been discontinued; luckily, I have several backups.

I admit that what I was looking for was She Wood, and I confess that what actually attracted me was that bottle in all its variants, with its combinations of materials, colours, lights, angles and textures… Life sometimes gives you surprises, and for whatever reason, I arrived late to She and read the reviews for Want, which, along with a tasteful sales assistant, led me to find a beautiful (as much as its signature partner) Want bottle at home. And the bottle is no small thing. You have to hold it to get an idea of it. But, in my opinion, the contents are just as well-crafted. To my surprise today, I even ended up placing it among the four I chose as “favourites” in my profile. And I’m realising that after Want, it seems I like vanilla-warm-spiced perfumes less. It’s not that I don’t like them anymore, it’s that I compare them with this one and they don’t come out well because this one, besides feeling well-made, has a bit more freshness and light, which makes the others seem heavy, simple, etc., very easily.

The opening is curious, with ginger and pepper over a citrus base. It seems very rich and interesting to me. When it dries it’s a vanilla that is nothing gourmand, very woody, deep, mature and addictive. Its projection on me is unfortunately soft and lasts about 4 hours. I can’t wait to receive a decant of Escentric Molecules 01 to boost it or layer it with other vanillas. For some reason I love the bottle, however bizarre that huge cap is. Scent 8/10, Longevity 4/10, Sillage 6/10, Value for money 5/10, Versatility 6/10, Packaging 9/10. Would I buy again? I’m not sure.

I bought my second bottle of this beautiful perfume today. I don’t understand why they discontinued it in Argentina and you can only find it by chance; thank goodness I managed to get two 100 ml bottles to enjoy for a long time. For me it’s vanilla and wood with a warm spicy touch. I recommend using it in winter or very cold days, it’s the ideal time. With a drop it seems to hug you tightly and refuse to leave; it has incredible longevity and quality for the price. It surprised me hugely and is my favourite for going out bundled up. I wouldn’t recommend it if you don’t like vanilla because it predominates a lot, although it’s not a cloying sweet; over-applied it can be overwhelming. It needs to be used with measure, the just and necessary amount to feel it without getting tired. At some point it seems to have a tobacco note that reminds me of other perfumes, although it’s not declared, perhaps it’s due to the combination of spices, but it’s very subtle. It suits both men and women, it’s totally unisex.

This is one of my perfumes, the strangest. I think it’s because the ginger left me speechless, but then it starts to become more and more addictive and never stops improving. It’s spicy, intense, feminine, complex and a whole lot more adjectives. I bought it because of what I read in your comments (I won’t point fingers but we all know who I’m talking about…), thinking at first: well, I wasn’t right (as I was wrong), since it is by far the most special thing I’ve ever smelled. I already have three bottles, because the little devil has me idiotised. I wear it less to work because we all have it.

Want by DSQUARED² is a perfume for a doll. But for a real doll, those found in old, intricate, hard-to-find shops, handmade and cared for from top to bottom, with perfect hair, cold, distant glass eyes, and custom-made clothes. That’s how this precious perfume smells like a doll you find in a lost gallery. Its opening, although spicy, not enough to be annoying, is the perfect point to let out some citrus and ginger at the same time, how beautiful. It ends up being a sharp, nothing synthetic vanilla, covered with an incredible powdery rose. A sweet, woody, powdery finish with a subtlety and softness that gives it a beautiful, very vintage and innocent character. I’m in love.

I follow you closely, I bought it blindly and I got it right. Delicious vanilla, it reminds me of Tocade by Rochas; I only have one gripe and that is that, at least on my skin, it doesn’t last long.

Intense and spicy, this fragrance has a sexy touch that makes it irresistibly attractive. It’s a storm for the senses and an exquisite concoction impossible to ignore. It opens with warm vanilla and mandarin, with a hint of spice at the start, and a delicate heliotrope that brings calm. I don’t detect much ginger or rose, but those final notes of woody vanilla are incredible. Another blind buy that made me jump for joy when I smelled it on my skin.

I couldn’t agree more! It’s impossible to go unnoticed with it. It arrived today and as soon as I sprayed it, I was left in shock. What a powerful opening! Here, femininity and attraction go hand in hand. Ordering another in reserve in 3, 2, 1!
