Got a compliment on the first wear. In short, it’s a woody fragrance with green and aquatic notes. The longevity is over 7 hours, the trail is decent, and the price is unbeatable. The quality is excellent for what you pay. However, there’s one note that sometimes makes me hesitate to wear it, yet it has everything to enter the ‘classics’ category thanks to its style. It’s much better than Encre Noire Sport. A safe buy if you like woody scents. 9/10.

A very rich fragrance. Personally, I bought the 50ml for €19 at the Duty Free in Barcelona airport; I saw them online for €70 for 100ml, and honestly, at that price, it’s not worth it. On my skin, it’s similar to the Dior Homme Cologne line, but it didn’t last long; I had to spray generously about 20 times. It lingers on clothes after hours, but not so much on the skin. It’s very rich, but only if you can get it at a good price.

Although it’s not a Chypre, it reminded me of some. I agree with previous reviews, especially adryens’: ‘A mossy forest at dawn after a fresh rain, with huge cedars and mist between the trunks’, exactly as described. It’s very possible this will be one of my next purchases… it suits my personal fragrance style well. Of course, you should evaluate its performance (this time I only tested it on blotter).

Well, this might seem silly, but it isn’t. In a nutshell: ‘Cloudy morning in a coniferous forest in Canada’. Ideal occasion: going to IKEA, but single. Alternative: Encre Noire Sport. Blind buy? Yes. I fell in love with the fragrance. I went to the store to try it directly, but the only tester available was broken and wouldn’t spray. I managed to put a drop on my hand. I went crazy over the fragrance, but I had to press my nose to my hand to smell it. I started walking around the shopping centre to see if it lasted at least. In the end, I decided to buy it for my own enjoyment, as the fragrance truly captivated me, even though it is somewhat flat. What a surprise when I got home, took a shower, and applied it with four sprays. Moderate trail for the first two hours. On skin, it lasts approximately 7 hours, and close to the skin, more than 12. On clothes, I don’t know why, but it lasts… I have a t-shirt I wore once for 1 or 2 hours on the desk a week ago, and I still smell the perfume perfectly, even though I’m a smoker. Perfect for spring and autumn, good for summer. I’d even wear it in winter if it’s not too cold. I paid about $60 for the 100ml along with a shower gel. A week later, I found the same set on offer for $45 and bought three more bottles, considering that, from what I researched, it seems they no longer make it or at least it’s not listed on their website. I have a modest collection of about 40 perfumes, and I think none gave me so much for so little money… and its fragrance, while flat, captivated me. It was what I was looking for, a green fragrance that stands out from the everyday and the blue. Although I’m a compulsive buyer, I think if I find it on offer again, I’ll buy a few more so I don’t regret it in a few years.

I’ve finally picked up Green Wood by DSQUARED2. Call me crazy if you must. It reminds me a bit of the middle phase of Cartier Declaration, but without that heavy French spice load. It opens with a strong citrus burst; that lime is acidic with a very subtle soapy touch. After 30 minutes, the cedar and vetiver take over, establishing that woodiness as the star while the ambroxan pushes everything towards the dry-down. It’s true that it loses a bit on originality by resembling ENS and others, but it takes the best of each, resulting in something interesting. For the heat, it’s a gem: it doesn’t bother anyone, has a dignified elegance, and the bottle is simple yet beautiful. Performance is average, around 8 hours with moderate projection at the start. Ideal for spring and summer, for the office or casual outings. Perfect for informal or semi-formal occasions with a white shirt. Excellent quality/price ratio and it generates compliments. JGS

This is my daytime signature scent, much more diurnal than nocturnal. I don’t smell it like a Dior Homme Cologne or a Citrus Cedro; they follow different paths. Here, it smells very green; I’m not sure if it’s the cedar, the cypriol, or both, but it lives up to its name. The citrus fades quickly; it’s more woody, a wet green wood and mossy vibe. The dry-down is ideal for not smelling like everyone else. It has personality without being overbearing, with acceptable performance for an EDT: on my skin, about 6 hours, quite linear once the green notes settle. Projection is 1 to 2 hours at arm’s length. I’m not impartial; I use it almost daily and it represents me. Velvet box, top-tier bottle, heavy and good quality, with a magnetic wooden cap and a maple leaf symbol (as good Canadians do). I recommend trying it.

Appropriate name: it’s fresh, green, and dark, where cedar, cypriol, and resins predominate. The opening is potent, barely citrusy but with noticeable pepper. I smell it as a mix of Loewe 7 and Classic Pino but more modern. It’s sober, well-masculine, and for everyday wear. Perhaps the ambroxan and musk give it that versatile profile. The best part is the dry-down: dark wood with a slight sweet and relaxing tone. Good fixation, medium projection, and acceptable longevity. An option for those who like woods and green aromas. Update: over time, I like the scent more; the dry-down is brilliant. At first, the opening was strong and shocking; the cypriol and pepper gave me a neck headache (perhaps lack of habit). Solved by applying it behind the ears, at the nape, or on the chest to avoid the immediate impact xD. P.S.: Bottle design, magnetic wooden cap, and velvet box are a bonus point.

It’s a woody opening that later turns into a light version of Encre Noire, but without the projection or longevity. If you like the Encre Noire aroma, this is the best option.
