Smells like a fresh, pleasant forest, just like the previous one from the same house and doesn’t feel reformulated. What stands out most is the combo of violets, wet earth, and woods. It’s different and I like it. They say it resembles Dior’s Fahrenheit and it might be, but I also notice a similarity in the dry down with Bravo Monsieur by El Ganso, even if it’s not exact.
I have the 2007 ‘He Wood’ by Dsquared2 and compared to this, it’s almost identical, perhaps this new one is a bit rougher. Can anyone explain if they discontinued the 2007 version?
Smells extremely similar to Burberry Touch, which is much cheaper and lasts the same. Both share that very marked fresh, aquatic violet. The Original Wood feels higher quality, versatile, clean, and has acceptable longevity, although the price is too high for what it offers.
I tried it and the opening is good with aquatic violets (vibrates like Narciso Rodriguez for Him), but then it becomes too woody for my taste, leaning into patchouli, amber, and musk. If this is a relaunch of the Hi Wood from 2007, the original was better because it truly conveyed that idea of mountain and pure nature, something the Original Wood doesn’t do. I admit I don’t get along with Dsquared2 perfumery, as I find them very simple and easy fragrances in a market where everything resembles everything, although those who love very woody scents will adore them.
