Descripción

K by Dolce & Gabbana by Dolce & Gabbana is an aromatic woody fragrance for men. Launched in 2019, this composition was created by Daphné Bugey and Nathalie Lorson. Its top notes of juniper berries, citrus, blood orange and Sicilian lemon awaken the skin; the heart reveals Jamaican pepper, lavender, statice and geranium; while the base settles with vetiver, cedar and patchouli.

  • An underrated fragrance with a lot of hate. It has a low sillage but the scent is pleasant, shower gel-like. For daytime use. At one time I had Galloway by PDM and they have similarities; this one is much fresher.

  • I love it, very fresh and elegant. The bottle is original and delivers. It lasts five to six hours on my skin and I’ve received several compliments. Ideal for nights out and meetings, it’s not invasive and I think nobody will dislike it, quite the opposite.

  • Michel vargas

Smells and projects very well, conveying cleanliness and freshness. The first two hours are very noticeable, then it recedes but is still well perceived up close. For me it’s a perfume for men; I don’t think it’s for very young people.

  • andreguilera

A masculine and different fragrance from current trends. The opening is complex, reminiscent of 1990s fougères. When dry it’s aromatic and woody. Performance: 6–7 hours on skin. Projection: 1–2 hours, depending on the weather. Age: 20 years and up.

  • Hombre_Perfumado

All citrus, with the dominant accord and the chilli pepper adding a kick and spice. Then the citrus yields to vetiver and cedar, becoming woody with a green touch of rosemary, lavender, patchouli and a persistent lemon note until the very end. It’s a fougère style. I see it as masculine, cheerful and fresh, yet it recalls the traditional barbershop, breaking current moulds, so I don’t think it’s for teenagers. The downside is it lasts five hours and depends on the weather. The upside is women like it. Ideal for daily, informal and versatile wear.

  • I tried a tester that was gifted to me and smelled of detergent all morning. The opening is pleasant, but once dry, it’s pure detergent.

  • Jorge Blanco

This is one of my favourites. I was gifted it for my birthday without trying it first, and I absolutely loved it. I wear it every day. It lasts around four hours with noticeable projection, and up to six at most. I don’t understand the negative votes; people tell me I smell like an old man, but I prefer a distinctive scent to something generic. Within the realm of everyday scents, it’s elegant. I wouldn’t recommend buying it blind.

  • FedericoAlexisB

I expected more. Powerful citrus notes and slightly sharp, very linear. Once dry, it smells of detergent, plastic, and synthetic materials. For the price, it’s not worth it, though it’s fine for everyday wear or going to work. Out of 10, I’d give it a 6.5. It lasts about five hours on the skin.

  • Mauro.A.81

Fresh, with mature citrus notes and a spicy kick that later cleanses into a soapy scent. Projects well for two hours and then lingers for another four. I wore it in summer while walking through the countryside and along the coast. I like it.

  • jackmonteria

My son received this as a gift in January. I must say it smells like that deodorant called Balance which he used in the mid-90s; I can’t recall the name. It’s nothing special; there are more overhyped reviews than actual value regarding price or scent. There are better options for less money.

  • For the price of this perfume, you can buy two from Zara, with the same performance but more interesting proposals.

  • LosPerfumesDeJavi

K by Dolce & Gabbana was a perfume I didn’t like at first, finding it quite boring and unnecessary, but the third time I tried it, it simply seemed fantastic. It smells of summer, of the freshness we need on hot days: blood orange, Sicilian lemon, juniper berries, amber sage, geranium, lavender, Jamaica pepper, cedarwood, vetiver and patchouli. A very agreeable masculine summer cocktail. I don’t like the bottle at all; it seems quite simple; if you remove the beautiful cap that adorns it, all that’s left is a jar that says nothing. Its longevity is around 8 hours on skin, projecting for about 5 hours, with a wide trail for a citrus fragrance.

  • jaimeambrosio

I bought it because I thought the opening was rich, but unfortunately that freshness lasts very little. Once it dries down, it’s very soapy and common. I wouldn’t buy it again; for its price, I’d rather buy Antonio Banderas or its EDP version. I’ll continue using it and update my review if my opinion changes.

  • A victim of anti-hype, undervalued beyond belief and criticised to exhaustion, even over the cap design. It’s proof that to be positively recognised in the perfume community it needs the blessing of gurus (influencers, YouTubers, active Fragrantica users, etc.). And if it additionally has the added insult of being belittled every time it’s mentioned, I won’t even tell you. What I see is a permanent copy and paste: here it’s the typical blue fragrance, there it’s said to add nothing, the crown-shaped cap is a joke… In my opinion, it’s a well-constructed scent where citrus, juniper berries, pepper and a clean woody base stand out. Performance for an EDT is more than enough. While it’s not disruptive or propositional, I do note a sufficiently original profile. I can’t find a notable similarity to any other perfume tried. It has its own personality, is very versatile and has a modern touch mixed with something classic that makes it interesting. I advise trying it without prejudice; perhaps more than one person will be pleasantly surprised.

  • This K is a rather odd citrus fragrance, neither totally fresh nor totally dark. It’s daytime wear, ideal for autumn-spring when it’s cool, but on very hot days it feels a bit heavy. It would suit an office, but it’s in the middle ground; it offers nothing new, isn’t innovative, modern or avant-garde. There are several others, cheaper or more expensive, that offer the same. That’s why it’s unnecessary… perhaps it completes the brand’s catalogue and those who like it will enjoy it, but you’re likely to find something more polished and interesting in the same perfumery.

  • After trying both the EDT and EDP, I’m sticking with the EDT. They’re very similar and, in my opinion, redundant. It smells clean and elegant, perfect for warm and temperate climates, but can be worn all year round. It appeals to the masses and doesn’t bother anyone; it’s made for that and succeeds. Performance is above average; today I compared it side by side with the new Le Beau Garden, and this lasted an hour or two longer with better projection. I chose this over the EDP because it feels fresher and more versatile to me, plus the scent, despite being similar, is more agreeable. I already have a 100ml bottle on its way.

  • I consider K by D&G very fresh; the aromatic sage notes are very subtle. We ourselves are to blame for the comparisons with functional products, where we demand scents from known and successful fragrances. Between the perfume industry’s struggle with raw materials banned or restricted by IFRA, we’re left without new scents; that’s the big dilemma.

  • The opening is delightful: fresh, clean, tasty, and very potent, you can tell. However, once it dries down, the pepper note takes centre stage, and personally, I don’t like it. If not for that, it would have made it into my collection.

  • CarlosMorenoo

K EDT was my signature for 2 or 3 years; I’ve used three 100ml bottles and am now on the fourth. It’s a brutally underrated fragrance unfairly criticised; people condemn it for being generic and similar to others, but since I tried it, I haven’t found another that reminds me of it. It’s a clean, masculine scent, totally versatile for all seasons, even formal occasions thanks to its elegant touch. Performance is average, around 6 hours on skin with improvable projection; to get good projection, I have to apply a lot, and it’s not cheap to do so. Furthermore, I haven’t received many compliments, just one in years of use. Don’t let the reviews sway you and try it; I’m sure you’ll be surprised.

  • It genuinely works and delivers on what we looked for in 2020, suitable for almost any time of day or year. It’s unisex, though on my skin the projection and trail are sparse; however, the dry-down is pleasant and appropriate for going out. I tried it with a sample, but I won’t be buying it.

  • FonGalicia

I tried the EDT and the EDP and ended up buying the EDT. They are similar, but the difference is that the EDP is too sweet for my taste. This EDT is very good, a rich scent halfway between sweet and citrus. The opening is spectacular and the dry-down is very good, although it doesn’t last long. It’s super versatile; best for everything except winter. I think it’s underrated on Fragrantica. I give it a 7 out of 10.

  • Gentil vagabond

Excellent fragrance, an indescribable sense of cleanliness. The only thing I didn’t like was the price.

  • For the price, it’s very boring, nothing interesting. That strong juniper berry note gives it a cheap perfume aftertaste.

  • Mango sells a perfume called ‘Capri’ from the ‘A Mediterranean Journey’ collection, with the same blue liquid and a scent copied from the ‘K’ but at less than half the price (20 euros). I’ve tried both and the performance is similar: the ‘K’ lasts five hours and the ‘Capri’ about four. Honestly, I wouldn’t pay the nearly 60 euros for an extra hour. Since the scents are almost identical, they evoke the same thing: a freshly ironed white shirt. They smell good, but I know I’d get bored of them. They are very spring-like, but in my opinion, I’d avoid them in much heat due to a note that gives a slight headache.

  • Vanessa Osorno

I don’t sense the citrus, but rather the lavender and the spicy note of paprika. The scent isn’t overwhelming; it’s traditional. It lasts about six hours. Who would I advise it for? Hmm, it’s not bad, but the price isn’t worth it. Perhaps for someone in their fifties.

  • An acceptable perfume, nothing more. It smells very generic for its price, especially in Argentina where the 100ml bottle costs $150. It has a fresh and citrusy opening, but as it dries down it becomes soapy and the lavender is noticeable. I wouldn’t recommend it because for that price there are many much better options.

  • A very pleasant fragrance, not so citrusy, but rather clean and fresh, ideal for going out, the office, or school, especially in spring and summer. It’s not a beast mode, but it has lasted six hours without issues. It’s not as volatile as Invictus or Dylan Blue, but if you catch it at a good price, it’s a perfect option for everyday wear.

  • EnriqueSeguraJ

Smells good, but in 2024 they released a third version. The three are similar, but the other two smell stronger. For the price, although the opening is different and it lacks fig, I recommend this one for the dry-down: after 45 minutes, it is 99% cleaner than Lattafa Raed Luxe.

  • K EDT, rich but it doesn’t last. It projects for an hour or an hour and a half, then sits skin-close for another hour and a half before fading. I now only use it for the gym with a few sprays. It’s rich, but not a discovery; if you’re interested in the D&G K line, the EDP or Intense are better for longevity and concept.

  • Perfuadicto97

A seriously underrated perfume. On my skin, it lasts a minimum of eight hours, with a brutal projection peak for the first two. It smells fresh and clean, of a rare exquisiteness. Of all my fresh scents, this is the one that has garnered the most praise; friends and colleagues keep asking about it. It’s a gem that deserves more fame.

  • Dry down smells delicious. For a D&G, I feel it lacks a bit of personality, but honestly, it’s only good in the dry down and don’t expect great surprises.

  • It’s the most citrusy and light version of the King collection. Smells delicious, fresh, and youthful, ideal for summer. If you like clean scents, it’s a good option, though it doesn’t stand out for longevity or projection.

  • Wlad Molina

A modern lavender with an interesting twist. The citrus opening is fresh and energetic, but the best part is the dry down where the lavender and a sour-woody note (perhaps pepper or patchouli) create a distinct personality. It seems more wearable than Dior Homme Intense as it feels younger. It’s versatile, lasts as expected for an EDT, and is worth it with an 8.9/10.

  • It’s not a generic or boring smell. I bought it on offer and have no regrets; it’s clean but with that interesting bell pepper touch. The trail isn’t much, so for an eight-hour day, you’ll need to reapply.

  • Josué González Céspedes

Very rich and versatile. Sweet and fresh, it suits daily life or going out. It fits perfectly even with formal outfits.

  • IgnacioF.Villegas

Creamy, enchanting, and clean. It smells delicious, earns compliments, and reminds me of a less sharp Versace Eros mixed with Bleu de Chanel. It’s the fragrance for a neat, well-dressed chap. Not for winter or daily use due to the price, but impeccable for a date or evening meeting. True elegance lies in subtlety, not a massive trail.

  • Avalon1224

Fruity and everything but one. Projection is low and longevity is moderate on my skin.

  • ManucoSeven

Rich, simple, and talcum-powdered/creamy. Lavender, bell pepper, and a sour-woody touch stand out. It’s a calm, versatile scent, suitable from daily wear to elegant occasions, though wearing it every day loses its charm. The EDT is brighter and cleaner than the EDP, which smells like fig when dry. Perfect for chilling out or wearing with a suit; it conveys cleanliness and good vibes.

  • metroidsoldier

Spicy, talcum-powdered, and energetic. You can smell the citrus mixed with berries and that touch of blood orange that gives it character.

  • On my skin, it’s an immediate freshness, almost soapy but not cloying. While some say it has a spicy bell pepper note, I detect nothing of that; it’s a well-balanced citrus that becomes woody as it dries down. Basic, but executed well.
