Perfumes de Daphné Bugey

Daphné Bugey, a perfumer at Firmenich, has always known that she was destined to create fragrances. Her passion for fragrances began at the early age of 10, and since then nothing has diverted her from this path. According to her, her mantra is “try everything, feel everything, to be able to create from a place of freedom”.

Daphné is not only a perfumer, but also a free spirit who loves exploring the world around her. She finds joy in kitesurfing and paragliding, experimenting with the power of the wind and the thrill of flight. She is always on the move, travelling across continents to explore nature, spirituality and contemporary art.

During a sabbatical year, Daphné immersed herself in different cultures and experiences, including meditation in Nepal, working on an organic farm in Japan, mastering Ayurveda in India, and studying the local language in Italy. She also spent time at Fabrica and at the Biennale of Contemporary Art in Venice.

Daphné believes that her approach to life and her creations lean towards the rational side of excess, and she has no desire to change her way of being. Her constant curiosity and appetite for learning have helped her create astonishing compositions that are spontaneous, bold and free.

Her creations, including Kenzo Amour, Aura Mugler, Scandal and Scandal By Night by Jean Paul Gaultier, and K by Dolce & Gabbana, among others, have been very popular. Her perfumery reflects her perfectly: a free spirit who wants to try everything.
