My favourite Le Labo to date, and a misnomer because, as for lily, there’s nothing of it here. It smells very much like Guerlain’s Terracotta, but the floral note is more intense due to the neroli and jasmine, which stand out on their own. The sweet vanilla base gives it body, though it lacks the coconut. As it dries down, the jasmine recedes and that typical Le Labo animalic musk emerges, much like in Another 13. It fits perfectly here, balancing the flowers and vanilla so it’s not cloying but rather creamy. It projects strongly for the first two hours before settling to a skin scent. On a humid summer day above 30°C, it lasted over six hours, making it a champion in longevity. I see it as thoroughly feminine (it smells like a Sophia Loren-style diva to me) and versatile for any season or occasion. Without the Terracotta comparison, I’d consider spending those 6€/ml. Pleasant: 9/10 Interesting: 8/10 Versatile: 7/10 Original: 5/10

The base is sweet vanilla, though without that coconut note that the other one has. As it dries down, the jasmine fades slightly and that typical Le Labo musky animalic note rises, much like in Another 13. Curiously, it fits perfectly here, balancing the flowers and vanilla so it isn’t cloying and adds a creamy texture. Projection is powerful for the first two hours, then drops to skin level. In the middle of a sweltering summer above 30°C, it lasted over six hours, making it a performance champion. I see it as undeniably feminine (it smells like a Sophia Loren-style diva to me) and is a true all-rounder for season and use. If I didn’t own Terracotta, I’d think about splashing out on those 6€/ml. Pleasant: 9/10 Interesting: 8/10 Versatile: 7/10 Original: 5/10
Tried it today and it hooked me instantly, so I took it home. It absolutely doesn’t fail; the issue is that I already own Santal by Le Labo, and my expectations for a new fragrance are brutal. This Lys doesn’t surpass them. To be clear, it smells incredible, but I simply haven’t managed to connect with it. Sillage 7-8/10, longevity 8/10, scent 9/10, yet Santal remains my 10/10.
