At first, I thought my nose had gone mad and I kept smelling Narciso Rodríguez for Her, but checking the notes revealed they share musk, vetiver and amber. Three key notes from ‘She Wood’ are there, plus jasmine, neroli and lime reminiscent of orange blossom and bergamot. They’re similar but distinct: not twins, but second cousins. The NR is the family photo seductress, while ‘She Wood’ is the friendly one who reminds you with her amiable character. I bought it blind because I already own fragrances from Dsquared2 and Daphne Bugey, and I’m delighted. It’s fresh without being that typical citrus freshness of cologne; it conveys lightness and makes me feel carefree, ready to handle any situation, ideal for everyday wear. It’s elegant and balanced, a complete package that never fails: just the right touch of sweet acidity, flowers like violet and neroli, woods of cedar and light vetiver, all combined with amber and musk that I adore. Well-applied, they make you want to sniff your wrists endlessly. It has creamy moments and its projection is good but contained, perfect for work, as does its counterpart ‘He Wood’, giving energy and boosting your mood.
