In the style of ADN Miyake, it is oceanic, absolutely aqueous, with a powdery touch of cashmere wrapped in ylang-ylang. For lovers of Miyake scents and aquatic lines, it’s a blind buy. For those seeking powdery woods with an almost endearing, cosy freshness, it’s also a blind buy. It lasts long; even after a shower you still detect it close to the skin… and having a refill is a plus.
Pure ADN Miyake style: oceanic, super aqueous and with a powdery touch of cashmere wrapped in ylang-ylang. For fans of Miyake scents and aquatic lines, it’s a blind buy. It smells of neither vanilla nor sweet florals, nor what you might expect. It smells of cold water sliding over smooth stones, a Japanese forest after rain, that hushed silence before a temple. I bought another first because when sprayed on my arm it didn’t strike me, but an hour later the scent opened up like a flower overflowing with magic. This is not a more intense version of the original; this flanker is a new creature: vegetal, aquatic and elegant. Posidonia is the star, a rare note that envelops you without intruding. I detected no lotus or lily, yet something stranger that elevates those aromas to the peak. It reminds me of Japan: wet streets, sleeping cherry blossoms, gardens of gardenias, that moment between mist and moon. It is mysterious, deep and intoxicating. It lasts forever and smells of nothing else in my collection. Perhaps it isn’t for everyone; I’ve seen harsh reviews from those who didn’t get it. But perhaps you don’t need to understand it, only feel it. If it catches you, it’s because there is a hidden sanctuary in your heart.
It smells of neither vanilla nor sweet florals, the least you’d expect. It smells of cold water running over smooth stones, a Japanese forest after rain and that sacred silence before a temple. I bought another first because when I tried it on my arm it didn’t make an impression, but an hour later the scent exploded like a flower full of magic and complexity. This is not a stronger version of the original; this flanker is a new creature: vegetal, aquatic and super elegant. Posidonia is the star, a rare note that envelops you without intruding, something I’ve never heard before. I didn’t detect lotus or valley lily, but found something stranger that recalls those aromas taken to the extreme. This perfume brings to mind Japan: the luminous solitude of its wet streets, sleeping cherry blossoms and gardens full of gardenias, that instant when you find yourself between mist and moon. It is mysterious, deep and intoxicating. It lasts forever and smells of nothing else in my collection. Perhaps it isn’t for everyone; I’ve seen harsh reviews from people who didn’t understand it. But perhaps you don’t need to understand it, only feel it. And if it catches you, it’s because there is a hidden sanctuary in your heart too.
