Issey Miyake's L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme Eau de Parfum is an aromatic woody fragrance for men. This creation, launched in 2025, is signed by nose Sophie Labbé. Its olfactory pyramid unfolds with a top note of Sichuan pepper, yielding to a heart of balsam fir, before settling into a base of cedar.

Faithful to the DNA of the Pour Homme, to me they smell the same, but with an extra hour or so of longevity. The truth is, I’m not sure if it’s worth it if you already have the EDT, as the boost in longevity isn’t huge. But it’s not expensive either, and if you really love the scent, it might be worth it.

  • Scolderfdf

It lifts the tone slightly compared to the regular L’Eau d’Issey, retaining that signature green and citrus note. A classic that’s had a little refresh and now has more punch. Ideal for spring and summer heat.

  • Scolderfdf

It opens slightly more strident than the normal version, with that characteristic green and citrus note. It’s a proven classic, renewed and with more punch. Ideal for the heat of spring and summer.

L’Eau d’Issey Miyake EDP is citrusy, floral and woody. The opening is citrusy, harsh and sweet, very synthetic, and I must confess I didn’t like it much at first. But over time, the citrus fades, leaving a pleasant floral and woody sensation, almost soapy. It retains the DNA of the classic but with a heavier woody load and a sweeter touch. I liked the dry-down phase much more than the opening. It’s a fragrance suitable for almost any season, appropriate for work, casual or formal wear. The longevity was good, between 8 and 9 hours, with a regular trail. In summary, I liked it, although you have to put up with the first few minutes of the opening. It’s an interesting and continuous scent. As almost always, I don’t recommend buying it blind; try it first.

  • I’m not sure if the notes are the same as on Fragantica, but it smells exactly like the original: that unique opening of fresh, sweet yuzu. Furthermore, although it’s hard to source, they’ve added incense that doesn’t compete but rather complements the yuzu; the two aromas are perfectly distinct. A real treat for everyday wear. As soon as I’ve finished my normal bottle, I’ll definitely grab the large bottle of this one.

  • A rich fragrance with a phenomenal spiced wood note. Useful for any weather and occasion. Excellent performance, lasting over five hours on the skin with a great trail. Totally recommended.

  • I’ve been wearing L’Eau d’Issey Pour Homme for fourteen years and have gone through no fewer than five or six bottles of the classic. It’s always been a fragrance I’ve loved, unique with a very distinct identity. That’s why when this Eau de Parfum version launched, I was both very curious and slightly apprehensive. After testing it on my skin for several days, I can say clearly: I don’t feel it’s merely a reformulation or just a ‘more concentrated’ original. To me, it’s a different perfume. The clean, elegant Issey DNA is there, but the focus shifts. The classic always felt more summery, sharp, and aquatic-mineral; this new EDP feels rounder, more versatile, and easy to wear in any context. On my skin, it behaves as something clean, fresh, and pleasant, but with more depth than the classic EDT. I see it as perfectly usable in winter, summer, spring, and autumn, day or night. It’s the kind of fragrance that doesn’t invade, yet doesn’t go unnoticed. It doesn’t seek attention at the top of its voice but conveys cleanliness, elegance, and quiet confidence. And that, for me, is a huge plus. It’s been a while since Issey Miyake released anything that truly excited me as much as this EDP. Without exaggeration, it’s becoming one of my current favourites. My personal note: highly recommended, especially for those who love the Issey DNA but are looking for something more versatile and modern.

  • I’ve worn the classic for 14 years and emptied six bottles. It’s unique and unmistakable. When the EDP launched, I was curious but wary; however, after wearing it for a few days, it’s clear: it’s not just a reformulation. The DNA is there, but the focus shifts; the original was more summery and mineral, whereas this is rounder and more versatile. On my skin, it smells clean, fresh, and deeper. I wear it all year round, day or night. It doesn’t shout; it conveys understated elegance and confidence. It’s exactly what Issey Miyake hadn’t released in ages and has become one of my favourites. Highly recommended if you’re looking for something modern and versatile.

  • Kaorstedk

The opening is unpleasant; it smells like a very green, natural perfume, as if you’ve crushed organic matter and left it to rot. It’s clear this isn’t for everyone. I do note that the scent is quite potent and lasts a long time on the skin; on clothes, it lasts more than a day.

The opening is a real stunner; it smells of crushed, decomposing organic matter, very green and natural. It’s not for everyone, but the scent is potent and lasts for ages on the skin, more than a day on clothes.
