Issey Miyake does magic again. The launches of the Nuit D’Issey line break the monotony with a fascinating experience. Polaris opens with an enticing bergamot, cypress and black pepper, fresh and spiced to catch your senses. Immediately the woods, balsam and a touch of oud bring out the fresh oriental, trapping you in the darkness and depth of these notes. You never feel alone. Along the way, you see a flickering, welcoming light of vanilla-leather that guides you and takes you away from the ordinary. The Great Scent.
I opened it after the 2020 midnight bells expecting something like Noir Argent and Pulse of the Night, a third evolution that would close the circle. Far from reality, it smells familiar: a mix of leather, woods and vanilla. It would be the evolution of Nuit EDT with leather and woods softened by vanilla, patchouli and amber, transforming it into something more wearable and less dense. First hour good projection, then it drops to a personal fragrance lasting about 10 hours. In short, a good fragrance that brings no novelty but is very pleasant to wear.
I bought it blind. I saw it only in the perfumerie and there was just one left. The opening is powerful, with the pepper and citrus very close to the style of Interlude. After an hour, that intensity calms down and the woods emerge with that sweet touch of vanilla and amber. It lasts about eight hours, very pleasant to wear at night or on days that aren’t too hot.

ISSEY MIYAKE – POLARIS. The opening is spectacular, bright and luminous; the bergamot and green notes with pepper give it an interesting nuance. In the heart, it darkens, the light fades to reveal the dark side of the woods, mysterious and intriguing. Then I perceive sweet incense from the vanilla, with silky and velvety leather. The bottle makes a perfect wink to the scent, between dark and luminous, a darkness that shines. Shine in the darkness. One of the best alongside Pulse of the Night. Totally recommended for night use.
Issey Miyake surprises again with unique fragrances. This is a flash of vanilla and spiced leather. I expected something different, not so heavy, because those notes become oppressive over time. A spicy opening that matches the bottle. Then it settles into warm vanilla, ideal for cold nights with a cigar and beer. Reminds me of Dior Pour Homme, Sauvage and L’Eau D’Issey Intense. An adult aroma with character, risky and not for everyone; not charming except for experts. Not versatile or easy, I don’t recommend buying blindly (like I did). It’s in my collection but isn’t my style; it differs greatly from the classic L’Eau D’Issey. If you seek citrus and freshness like other versions, this is NOT the option.
The opening is hypnotic. Bergamot, cypress, pepper and vanilla create an enveloping fragrance, a perfect balance between attractive citrus and mysterious spices. By the hour, the projection becomes intimate, leaving the metallic sheen for deep notes of patchouli and a robust oud that isn’t challenging. The final amber adds warm sensuality. Although it seems discontinued, if you find it, buy it; it’s a jewel.

After an hour, the projection becomes more intimate, letting the metallic brightness give way to the warm depth of patchouli and an oud that, without being aggressive, adds robustness to the base. It finishes with an exquisite amber that lends a warm sensuality. Although it seems discontinued, if you can find it, buy it without hesitation; it is an absolute gem.
Very hyped. Issey always follows the herd; copying doesn’t work. Nothing, it’s not worth the price thanks to several YouTubers.
