  Pure sandalwood surrounded by leaves, in this case fir, cypress and juniper berries. It belongs to the category of perfumes that smell of the woods. It reminds me of Lab on Fire’s Hossegor, although here the cedar wood supports the sandalwood, which is the protagonist, whereas in Hossegor the resin notes come through more. It is clearly a woody, warm and very well-mannered perfume.

  It’s my signature: sandalwood, juniper, cedar and bergamot. By far my favourite fresh scent. Elegant, versatile and easy to wear, I use it daily, at night or for events. It stands out a lot. Like all fresh scents, it doesn’t last as long as I’d like, but it defends its six hours worthily with a good projection that fades from the third hour. I’d recommend it blindly. Perhaps my difficulty in finding elegant fresh scents that go with a suit plays a part, but I’m not lying: it’s my favourite. It smells of nothing commercial, without the sweetness of Erba Pura or the ‘baby doll’ vibe of Prada or Montblanc. It’s the first where the juniper is so noticeable and, at least for me, it fascinates me.

  I swear I have Orto Parisi’s Megamare and it has a salty touch that reminds me of it hugely, but it is much more aromatic and herbal. It’s not for everyone; it requires an acquired taste and liking this profile. I only remember the opening so clearly.
