At first I didn’t like it, I thought it was strong, but once I realised how long it lasts, I ended up loving it.
Eternal. A perfume that is never out of place. Soft, fresh, still current despite the years, super versatile. I smell it aquatic, from the same family as L’eau de Kenzo. Buy blind and very suitable for gifting.
I think it deserves a list of ’90s Scents’. It smells like the 90s: fresh, youthful, elegant and very feminine. Unique and with excellent longevity. I can smell it all day and the dry-down is a treat.
A great surprise. The opening is strong, but the dry-down is wonderful. Its evolution stands out; the scent improves with the hours. Excellent longevity and trail. Fresh, floral and very versatile.
One of my all-time favourites. It blends perfectly with the skin; I love it.
I tested it on my skin and barely noticed it: a green, marshy, mossy garden. The woods and carnation stand out. The other flowers are well blended, you can’t distinguish them, but it smells fresh, like freshly cut flowers. I don’t see it as particularly feminine; it’s more unisex.
Fresh to feel clean. Perfect for coming out of the shower or daily wear all year round. Its low-cost version in Spain is Mercadona’s ‘Ikiru’; it lasts less but smells the same and is much cheaper. A perfect wardrobe staple perfume.
I had it when I was young and loved it. I liked it so much that I remember how I felt wearing it. I highly recommend it for younger people.
It’s the classic of classics, very common, but it’s my fragrance. To me, L’eau d’Issey is balance, cleanliness, purity, peace and tranquility. Even if I try others, none dethrone my silver one from the 90s. Nothing is more balanced. Sometimes fresh, then sweet, with lily and violets, suddenly ozonic… Perfect and rounded. My king since Christmas 1998. It lasts all day, and with the lotion, it’s game over. The trail is incredible, noticeable but not heavy. Soft, delicate, like walking with lilies on a breezy day.
I was doubtful at first, but now it’s my go-to. Delicate, nothing invasive, super feminine and wearable. Ideal for the day, a cake with friends, or going out. It doesn’t turn anyone off.
It smells of magnolia. It’s not sweet at all, which is why I don’t like it, but the aroma feels good; it smells clean and almost unisex. It’s for a serious woman, not sexy. It’s for summer; it feels fresh and floral. I was given a sample. I wouldn’t buy it because it’s not my style, but it’s a good fragrance.
I was looking for this toilette to use alternatively with the perfume. In this case, there are discretely fruity top notes. They say it’s melon, but I believe that reasonable impression arises from the watery touch of calone and its play with a less impactful opening balance than the perfume. If for me the Miyake in perfume is like a valley of flowers at the foot of a mountain with beautiful cascades and serene lakes, this toilette is a generous garden with flowers alongside a pond of water lilies and a stone fountain. That’s why I find it so difficult to distinguish the composition. In Miyake I surrender to its message and its architecture. The scent is long-lasting, but as it’s an elegant, feminine and clean aroma, it quickly causes habituation and you stop noticing it after 4 hours. But it’s there. You perceive it in every positive comment… and it lasts more than 5 hours on skin.
It’s beautiful. It has the right balance between a floral blend and a certain sweetness. It conveys tranquility. It has excellent performance. It’s perfect.
A fragrance that has always intrigued me; I tried it recently but unfortunately couldn’t make myself like it… there’s a note I can’t distinguish that feels pricking and covers everything else. Another proof of how important it is to test them before ‘investing’ (my other disappointment was with Light Blue).
A quintessential 90s fragrance; in that sense, it reminds me of Calvin Klein’s Eternity. It brings back memories of a friend who used it at school, and at the time we thought it rather eccentric. It resembles the discontinued Ming Shu by Yves Rocher, which didn’t enchant me but I used it because it smelled fresh yet put-together. Now, that last one was much more youthful. I perceive a pond with water lilies, mossy water and flowers; carnations and lilies are what I detect after the lotus flower that opens it up. It’s elegant, clean and a classic that will always be appropriate; the dry-down is soft but substantial and lasts for hours and hours.
This is one of those fragrances that on paper has everything to appeal to me, but when I smell it, it falls apart. I felt an imbalance in the opening between the melon note and the roses, and as it dries down, a peony persists that ultimately creates an unpleasant experience. I like the scent of water and dampness in fragrances, however in this case it seems like a symphony of scents that not only don’t quite come together but are simply disagreeable. It’s a no, unfortunately.
I adore this fragrance; I describe it as ‘well-being in a bottle’. So calming, I love the aquatic lotus flower note; it’s a unique, clean, everyday, timeless, sublime scent. For me, it evokes early morning with that crispness of the outdoors, in a beautiful pond surrounded by flowers and green woods, that feeling of morning peace, a zen state. It’s an aroma that moves me deeply, very spiritual, balancing pristine aquatic life with the fine, fragrant flowers of a green sanctuary in nature.
It is a true elixir of peace and harmony. A wonder for calming the mind. The first time I tried it, I was travelling to Australia. Exhausted, we had a layover in Los Angeles. I tested this perfume in duty-free and it calmed me completely for hours until I reached my destination… It’s aquatic, ozonic and refreshingly cool. It reminds me of the scent of wet earth after rain. A pure oasis that transports you to a dreamland. I haven’t found anything equal in terms of aromas. It’s inimitable. Most men don’t like it; it’s not sensual. It’s for personal use, just for you, ideal for summer, very zen with an unmatched Japanese touch.
I’m absolutely smitten with this fragrance. My mother used to wear it in the 2000s, and it brings back wonderful memories. It smells sophisticated, soft yet noticeable. It’s not quite my usual style, but I love it too much, especially for special occasions.
I HATE roses, I hate them, and yet I LOVE THIS PERFUME. It smells of roses, but the real ones!!!!!! Woods and olive with a slight sting at the back. Simply perfect.
Before going crazy for perfumes, I used only one all year and this was one I repeated many times. Fresh, with a meadow scent, elegant and long-lasting. In the 90s it was THE perfume you had to have. Unmatched, it will always be in my collection.
Spring is here, the time for light and floral fragrances. Seeing nothing in the new releases that attracted me and not feeling like searching much, I decided to return to a 90s classic, so languid and ethereal. I loved them (and still adore them). And L’eau d’Issey was always like coming home, a floral but light, crystal-clear and harmonious perfume, nothing like current perfumery, so loud and excessive. But what a surprise, when testing it in the shop (and thank God), I found a juice that is a distant echo of what it once was. L’eau d’Issey has been reduced to a tasteless, ghostly liquid. Almost nothing of its luminous and tranquil aura remains: the lotus personality is watered down, the peony is imperceptible… the rose is noticeable, and the melon, which I did not remember, adds a slightly synthetic sweetness. What a huge sadness, with the decline of these classics, memories and emotions also fade, leaving behind a bitter nostalgia.
I remember when, as a teenager and looking for perfumes in my sister’s dressing room, I came across this (she had brought it from abroad, from her then-husband). That scent was etched into my brain: it smelled refined, clean, fresh… it smelled of an adult woman, but an adult woman with a spark. Like those 90s/00s ads showing futurism. I bought it with my first salary and it has never left my wardrobe. Everyone recognises me by that scent. My boyfriend gave me the last bottle and now I use it for our summer dates, as he smells and recognises it (something he is not very good at!) 😅 It may not last a thousand hours or flood the room, that is true, but the person I want to feel it does, and loves it. Anyway, it is a very fine perfume, fruity, fresh, aquatic… it smells of freshly cut sweet melon, woods, and rain dew in a garden, it is a delight. Now at 30 I can say it is my signature scent and it will be forever ❤️
I have been using this perfume for years since I was 17 and the truth is I always receive compliments, despite being a classic it always stands out. It smells clean, is pleasant when dry, I feel it is versatile as you can wear it for any occasion, whether for the gym or a dinner. It is cheerful and yet elegant!
I love it, it is one of my favourites and I always buy it before the one I have runs out; it cannot be missing from my collection. A rich aroma, smells clean, fresh and citrusy (though not mentioned), sweet and floral, very versatile. It has a long trail to the point that my scent arrives first and lingers long after I have gone 👌🏼. Excellent longevity and the best of all, it is not a common perfume. Highly recommended 😊
I deleted my previous review because I wanted to speak of this wonder again. I am now on my third EDP, which is rare for me. It is my holiday scent: fresh, aquatic, and floral. An eternal jewel, less dusty and woody than the EDT, much more floral and alive, with a bright aquatic jasmine… Ideal for summer and spring, it has its own identity and lingers in the memory. It could be a blind gift. It smells of elegance, cleanliness, and quiet nature.
I am completely smitten 😍 It’s like being by the Lotus Pond in Parque SAVAL in Valdivia 🌸🌺
A love that never ages. I found it again after 20 years. In a world where fragrances shout, L’eau d’Issey sounds with elegance. It is a fascinating watery melon, balanced with soft florals.
I keep coming back to it. That aquatic note is addictive and never goes out of fashion. It suits any age and any season. It is an eternal classic.
It repulses me. It smells of rotten fruit, a sharp acid that constricts the head and causes headaches.
It has been my favourite perfume since I was 17; it cannot be missing from my collection; it is another level. I have used niche, designer and Arabian scents, and this is the one that receives the most compliments. People like the clean, fresh yet strong scent. It has many notes that Guao Guao does not clarify: suddenly it is very fresh and then quite concentrated and striking. It adds attitude and elegance; it is irresistible. It feels delicious to me! I do not know if the aquatic and ozonic notes do not suit some people. I recommend it a thousand times, only know that you must apply it wisely because sometimes it feels very fresh and other times very strong. It also depends on the weather; I use it any day and at night because that is when it feels strong.
I love it! It is fresh, feminine and ideal for any occasion. I use it more on warm days. I think it is very difficult not to like it, so I recommend buying it blind. On my skin, it has good projection and longevity, something I struggle to find in other perfumes of these characteristics. In Argentina, people often asked if it was Caro Cuore, but I do not feel them as similar due to the characteristic freshness of this one, which Caro Cuore lacks.
Very fresh and pleasant at first, but its dry-down seemed too woody to me. Although it is not sharp, there is a note that makes my head hurt a lot; a disappointment.
I bought it because it was on offer and the set cost the same as the perfume alone in other perfumeries. I expected it to be clean and soapy. It turned out clean, yes, but not soapy at all. The melon note does not please me because I find it invasive and it is present throughout the development. Nevertheless, I like it for being fresh; it is ideal for the hot summer days in my country. It transports me to a coastal city I visit on holiday. I do not think I will buy it again; I prefer to keep searching for the perfect clean perfume and, so far, I have not found it.
It would be perfect if the aquatic peony note were not so strong; I feel it is present throughout the entire development and it feels heavy and overwhelming to me, which is why I do not find it as fresh. Nevertheless, I acknowledge that it is a great perfume.
It is not fresh; it is quite intense and a bit overwhelming. It is somewhat vintage; it smells very well but like a perfume from over 20 years ago, nothing current. The green floral note is very noticeable, and as it dries, you can detect the peony, rose and an aquatic touch that gives me a laundry detergent sensation. Try it on your skin because every skin develops it differently.
Floral, aquatic and fresh, yet with weight. I love it! It is an EDT with better performance than many EDPs. I like it immensely; it is exotic, clean and floral, something uncommon nowadays. I will definitely repurchase.
It is exquisite, seductive and addictive. Although it is marketed as feminine, it is a rich scent that I would also wear. I cannot stop smelling it. I showed it to my 18-year-old daughter and she bought it because she loved it. I believe that, despite being on the market for years, it performs just like its men’s version: people still love it and it stays current. I recommend it highly, although, as with everything, try it before buying.
It is one of my favourite perfumes; it lasts all day. I recommend it for cloudy or rainy days; my skin handles it well because it carries intense scents beautifully and it suits me incredibly. However, if you are sensitive to strong fragrances, better not to buy it.
I like it, although it is not my favourite; it has its place in my collection. Ideal for heat and daytime, I even see it as unisex. It smells airy and oxygenated; it reminds me a lot of Perry Ellis 360º, perhaps due to the melon note that gives that sensation. Both smell very similar to me, but this one is softer and more wearable.
