Descripción

Flower by Kenzo by Kenzo is an oriental floral fragrance for women. Launched in 2000, this composition was created by Alberto Morillas and Christian Dussoulier. The top notes reveal a combination of Bulgarian rose, hawthorn blossom, blackcurrant and mandarin; the heart unfolds with Parma violet, rose, opoponax and jasmine; while the base notes complete the olfactive pyramid with vanilla, white musk and incense.

My grandmother gifted it to me for my birthday, as some of her friends told her this was the best perfume; and yes, it does smell good—powdery, floral, even slightly clean or fresh—but I feel it smells like ‘granny’. When I wear it, I immediately think I smell like that (no wonder she and her friends love it). It’s not a scent I dislike, as I find a resemblance to a perfume I like a lot, ‘Kriska Clásico’ by Natura; it could be a close dupe, but Flower by Kenzo is much more powdery and less sweet. It reminds me of when I was little and went out after bathing at my grandmother’s house; she would apply rose-scented powder to me, and that’s what this perfume smells like to me. The longevity is moderate, about six hours, and the trail and projection (at least on me) aren’t very good. Perhaps I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re looking for a youthful perfume, as it literally smells like rose talc.

Powder, powder and more powder. A cloud of creamy talc and powdery creaminess that feels like an enchanting, romantic spell. It’s a delicious beauty that lasts for hours and evokes feelings of absolute cleanliness and relaxation. Another in the same style, though not identical but very much in that powdery vibe with a creamy dry-down, is CANDY by Prada, another one I adore madly, though Prada is more carnal and sensual, while Kenzo is softer. What a beautiful perfume!

  • I think this perfume is either a love-it-or-hate-it situation. I love it, but I recognise it needs to be used with moderation and, in my opinion, only in winter. It dries down to a very warm and complex scent; in my opinion, it’s delicious. But as I said, with moderation: a ‘fris frus’ on the neckline and you’re ready.

I can’t quite remember which bottle it was, but I think it was. Let me start by saying it was an accidental gift because a woman who sold us a house had left it in a forgotten cupboard (odd, I know). It was almost full, and I finished it in less than a year; what a treasure. Slightly powdery and floral, perfect for spring and summer, but you must really like the powdery scent, otherwise, don’t even get close.

  • Mabebriba

It was my favourite perfume for several years, until they started using that scent in floor cleaning products, plus it became mass-produced due to its easy imitation; you’ll understand why I ended up hating the smell.

  • Monty Phyton

I don’t detect any woody or balsamic notes… just very powdery and quite floral. One dose and I have an aura with an incredibly prominent trail. The amber and vanilla are very subtle up close, while the frankincense is hidden like a lover’s gift. Powder and flowers; it evokes cleanliness but not the relaxation of White Tea (EA) or White Musk (TBS). A soaped-up baby, it lasts until you say ‘enough’. It has a vintage touch. I prefer L’Eau Jolie by Lolita Lempicka. 🕯️ 3/10.🍂

  • What stands out and lingers most is the powdery note; I feel it’s a bit strong. During the day and in heat, it’s a total no; it’s better suited to winter evenings.

  • Soft, floral and powdery; I’ve used it endlessly, both the original and an excellent Caravan (36) dupe. I didn’t realise it contained frankincense—I never noticed it. I don’t wear it as much now, but it was my everyday scent for several years: winter, autumn, spring, summer, day, night, meetings or formal dinners. It suits any occasion.

  • I didn’t like it. It smells of baby powder. It is rich, yes, but it’s not what an adult wants to smell like.

  • AntaresAres

It’s a pure floral fragrance, no secrets. I started with enthusiasm until halfway through the bottle and had to stop. I began to hate it fifteen years ago. I’ve reconciled with Flower again (I know it’s been reformulated), but I apply it cautiously because its floral soul saturates me easily. Does it bother me that it’s powdery? No, my nose has little patience for delicate florals that turn out to be dramatically intense. For a while in spring, the rest of the year… not for me.

  • Gemasevilla

Its main characteristic is powdery tenderness. If you don’t like the powdery aspect, better look elsewhere. The powdery note is its signature. Hopefully they never change it.

  • zoe_elPerfume

Fresh yet intense, it lasts forever and envelops you in a cloud of cotton and flowers with a powdery touch. I’m fascinated by how it evolves and its longevity is incredible. If you go out at night, you’ll still smell of it the next day. Obviously, it’s not for those who dislike intensity, but if you enjoy it, it could be your favourite; I never get tired of wearing it.

  • aliciaouteiralf

I have a dupe that smells exactly like the original and I’m writing this for anyone interested. No one ever asked me what cologne I was wearing until I started using this; they told me I smelled spectacular. Since then, it’s a staple in my collection, day and night, winter and summer. The longevity is spectacular for the price; it’s the dupe brand starting with S called Pink.

  • Gemi Payano

Flower by Kenzo is imposing; its blend of incense and flowers is radiant. On my skin it accentuates the tangerine citrus and sweet vanilla, a cocktail of fruits and roses that fascinates me. I wear it lightly during the day so as not to be too aggressive in enclosed spaces.

  • Luciibelen15

True to its name, it is floral: strong, long-lasting and classic. It can sound stately because it’s so well-known and caters to all ages, but I love it every time I smell it. Its longevity is excellent, like other Kenzo fragrances. It’s the typical scent of a school play, suitable for day or night, especially in spring but all year round.

  • Flower by Kenzo is a delicate powdery floral, a timeless icon that evokes a blooming garden with freshness and elegance. It remains relevant and sophisticated for any occasion.

  • danapetalorojo

A delicate violet and rose scent, extremely tender. It reminds me of baby oils, but more feminine and powdery. I sleep wonderfully wearing it.

  • todayisabeautifulday

Smells like baby powder and I was looking for something like that; it seems perfect for layering.

  • I received this as a gift. It’s super floral with great sillage and lasting power, but on my skin it smells like baby powder and gives off an old-lady vibe; I know young people who wear it well, but it’s definitely not my style.

  • carito_kyun

I truly love it. I associate powdery scents with freshness; wearing it after a shower is the best. It smells super powdery, like a baby, just as others say. If you’re looking for that scent, this is the ideal one. The first time I used it, I applied too much and it overwhelmed me, so two or three sprays are more than enough. It has become my favourite and when this one runs out, I’ll keep buying it.

  • chiaradellavedova

My second imported perfume back in 2012, I still have it, and it’s a powdery floral that fascinates me. It has significant projection and sillage.

  • Pachi San

If a fragrance has been on the market for 25 years and is still selling, it’s because it’s beautiful. Flower by Kenzo is. On my skin, it smells woody, floral, and powdery. It’s a classic of classics, but I don’t feel it’s vintage at all. It lasts and is noticeable without being overwhelming. Simply beautiful.

  • Alba Gómez

I already tried the Caravan imitation and loved it so much that I dared to buy the original… what a joy. From the first spray, I fell in love: it’s much finer and more intense than the copy. At first, it’s a fresh bouquet of flowers, floral to the max, but then it turns deeply powdery, which is my favourite part: pure baby powder. If you like smelling like this, it’s ideal. The longevity is good and it’s noticeable on you (it’s not one of those that smells on others but not on you).

  • I just tried it on my skin and I adore it. It’s exactly that ‘your skin but better’ style.

  • It’s a beautiful powdery floral. On my skin, it smells exactly like Nivea cream, super clean and nothing heavy. Although it’s floral, it doesn’t smell old-fashioned; it’s a classic that suits women of all ages because it’s neither outdated nor childish, simply very pretty and pleasant.

  • It feels very dense to me and gives me a headache. It’s extremely floral and I find it heavy, like the perfumes grandmothers used, which is why I think it smells too much. The good thing is that someone gave it to me, as I wouldn’t have bought it myself.

  • oliendobonito

It’s a blend of sweet violets, soft roses, and a creamy base that smells of fine feminine talc. If you like powdery scents, this has it all. Although it’s delicate, it can become overpowering if you apply it too many times. It suits me perfectly all year round except in summer, when the heat makes it feel a bit suffocating. It’s sweet, musky, and very feminine, with moderate projection and lasting more than 9 hours on clothes.

  • It’s the first fragrance by Alberto Morillas that doesn’t suit me; it smells of lavender and baby powder to me. It’s pleasant and the notes are natural, without synthetics, and it lasts all day, but it doesn’t make me feel sexy. I gave it to my mum and I suspect she uses it because she knows it’s expensive, even if she doesn’t love it. The mistake was smelling it on someone else rather than on myself; I think I confused it with one of its flankers. It doesn’t smell bad, it’s classic and vintage, long-lasting, suitable for summer, not strong, and not annoying. I don’t like any of the notes, but I find it very flat.

  • userrandom99

According to Fragrantica it has a thousand things, but to me it just smells like cheap talc, pure talc and nothing else.

  • Back in 2020, when I bought an old country house that had been on the market for 15 years, I found this perfume hidden in the previous owner’s bathroom cabinet. My mother gave it to me, and since then it’s been my signature scent until it ran out. To me, it was magic in a bottle and I never tried anything else. Perhaps one day I’ll find it again.

  • ibannananana

I never understand the hate; it’s one of those scents that marks your life. In my case, I love the powdery aroma; it’s not vintage but clean. I love using it after a shower in summer, it’s super comfortable. I use it for personal enjoyment, not to get compliments, and it doesn’t draw too much attention.

  • I bought it blindly because my mum used to talk about it a lot in the 2000s. I loved it at first. Yes, it’s very powdery and I like it for the clean scent. I use it at the gym or for long runs; I know it doesn’t go away even if I sweat, it lasts days on clothes, and the trail is long and lasting.

  • Oh, Flower! It transports me back to when I was two years old at my godmother’s house; everything smelled like her signature. Those sweet flowers give me so much nostalgia. It’s powdery, floral, very ‘proper girl’, soft and innocent. Obviously, it’s not for everyone; I like it for the sentimental weight, without it it wouldn’t be my top pick. I smelled it again with a friend and relived everything. Good performance, but the trail fades quickly, lasting about six hours with a trail of only a few metres.

  • TottiMangini

They gave it to me and it smells powdery. I hate it. It’s too heavy for a talc scent and smells old. I tried wearing it after a shower to sleep in, but it was impossible. It’s jarring on its own. It gives me fatigue and headaches. Nope.

  • Postrecito_Vs

I see it as very floral, but not in a good way; it’s dense. It seems like a perfume for ladies. I wouldn’t buy it; I tested the sample. Don’t buy blindly.

  • graciela1968

Kenzo never fails! I have it and I adore it. I can smell it on my skin and clothes for hours, well over six. I’m going for the Cherry Poppy 😉

  • Since I first smelled it, I thought: ‘pretty girl’. It’s floral and soft, perfect for feeling good and confident without being loud. It doesn’t suit me much, but if you’re looking for a sweet, elegant, and subtle scent, it’s your thing. Just don’t use it if you sweat a lot or live in the heat.

  • I love it; I used to wear it as a teenager to feel elegant and office-ready. Out of all the Kenzos I’ve tried, this is the king. A classic that earned its place.
