Descripción
Fruit d'Amour Turquoise by Emanuel Ungaro is an aquatic floral fragrance for women. Launched in 2017, this composition was created by Emilie Coppermann and Alienor Massenet. Its opening awakens the senses with marine notes, coconut and grapefruit; the heart reveals a harmony of tiare flower, orchid and orange blossom; while the base settles on a foundation of sandalwood, patchouli and vanilla.

I bought it recently; it smells aquatic and soft, not what I expected, but I am giving it a chance. It does not last long on the skin, but it does on clothes, and it is very wearable… we shall see if it wins hearts.
I bought it a few months ago because I was intrigued by that aquatic-coconut blend; I wanted coconut but not the typical cloying or sunscreen-like sweetness. It opens with aquatic notes, a touch of salt refreshed by grapefruit, and a few minutes later a delicate coconut emerges, not sweet, like fresh coconut water that combines perfectly with the salt and grapefruit. As it settles, the flowers appear, the neroli and a timid tiare that gradually sweeten. The sandalwood is barely noticeable upon drying, but a sober vanilla is definitely felt, accompanied by a very soft patchouli that helps to sweeten it all. It leaves a fresh and sweet cocktail without being overpowering, like a very light coconut water. If you ask me what it smells like, I’ll say a summer cocktail with sweet coconut without being heavy, fresh, citrusy, with a hint of salt in the air, all sweetened by vanilla and a timid patchouli. It lasts 6 hours with a moderate to high trail if applied on clothes. It receives good compliments, it is energising, makes you feel beautiful, fresh, in a good mood and perfect for spring and summer. I love it.

I already had two Ungaros and liked them, but this opens with water and a touch of salt refreshed by grapefruit. At first, for the first 10 minutes, I only detected something generic and floral, unsure of what else it was. Checking the notes, I saw it contains coconut, but it takes about 15 or 20 minutes to emerge, and then it really shines. By the way, a few weeks ago I tried Ariana Grande’s Cloud, which also has coconut but is much sweeter. Here, in FdA Turquoise, the coconut is more citrusy and, frankly, less attractive to me. The performance is not outstanding; it stays close to the skin for the first hour. Although it is not offensive and lacks presence, it is ideal for days over 20 degrees, for the office or family gatherings. I recommend it for women over 30. By the way, the box and bottle are very pretty and it is affordable.
I am a victim of the designer perfume curse: every time I fall in love with a scent, they discontinue it. This EDT was no exception; I hunted it down because I wanted something similar to Lolita Lempicka Coral, which hasn’t been sold for over two years. Upon trying it, I was absolutely thrilled: it smells almost identical and costs much less, although its longevity is dreadful. I didn’t mind and reordered it about five times until one day it vanished. What a pity; it is a unique aquatic fragrance with fresh coconut, nothing like sunscreen, but rather pure coconut water on a paradisiacal beach surrounded by white flowers. If anyone in the UK knows where to get it, please let me know.
