I like it quite a bit. When sprayed, it smells of intense vanilla, but not high-end perfumerie vanilla like Dior’s, but almost like the kind we use in the kitchen, toasted or as cream. It’s not negative, I love it! Since I flavour my homemade sweets with vanilla, this perfume reminds me a lot of that. The opening is very intense and then softens, leaving that initial sensation. It’s sweet but not excessively so; perhaps other notes compensate for the sweetness. It’s an advantage because, although some say sweet perfumes are only for winter, this can be worn in summer and during the day. It’s not elegant by my concept, but it’s very pleasant, creamy, and warm. If the name ‘Noir’ implies something deep, it’s not much here. Pleasant, creamy, and sweet, but nothing more. Like all from the brand, it doesn’t last long or leave a trail, but it doesn’t overwhelm or smell too sweet.

  • Fresh and pleasant: vanilla, mandarin, and cedar. Nothing groundbreaking or overly sophisticated, but certainly not bad. Many people think it’s the cheap version of Dior’s Hypnotic Poison, but here it smells less chemical; on my skin, the original Dior smells like solvent and my partner rejects it, so the red bottle stays in the cupboard. This Yves Rocher one is more natural, not very sensual, but the vanilla is acceptable for informal occasions. Moderately sweet aroma, medium longevity, and a very light aura.

  • Caught me off guard, what a gem! I used to hate Yves Rocher colognes for that alcohol smell, but I needed warm vanilla for everyday wear, nothing cloying. The in-store testers were cloths that evaporated the scent in 10 minutes, but when I tried it on my skin, fresh and sweet, it seemed to have a hint of blackberry. No synthetic vanilla like the usual stuff. The downside is it doesn’t last long, staying close to the skin, but that blend of three vanillas is cheerful and feminine. I just wish it had that freshly baked dessert note I was looking for.

  • Dark and warm elegance, not gourmand, more mysterious and autumnal. A calm, spicy, and spiced vanilla but without exaggeration, unisex and close to the skin, like a good glass of brandy.

  • Good perfume and good performance. A different vanilla, nothing like supermarket custard. It doesn’t smell like a pod either, but in my opinion, it has very good value for money.

Vanille Noire is exquisite… fresh, elegant, and sweet. What a lovely perfume that goes unnoticed among so many that pretend to be better but aren’t. Its sweetness is entirely natural, right to the core. Although it’s called Vanille, I swear it carries coconut pulp, the good kind, and some sandalwood. It has a beautiful initial freshness, ideal for summer, like a breeze with vanilla and drops of coconut and a few flowers. Nothing cloying, perfect for those seeking something beautiful and different, without being loud. A wonderful discovery today that will go into my wardrobe. 50 ml are 30 euros; they don’t give it away, but they show more imagination than many in their segment. The sillage is medium (you smell it more personally) and the longevity is quite good, over five hours. It’s worth it. However, the Vanille Bourbon from the same house lasts longer and is more economical; although the scent isn’t the same, one is a biscuit and the other is exotic summer vanilla. By price, the other performs better. EDIT: the opening is a bit alcoholic but fades quickly.

A mature and woody vanilla. I like it, although I feel it lacks more sillage, but for the price, it’s well worth it.

  • A serious, elegant, and deep vanilla that stands out from cloying and tiresome blends; well worth trying.

  • My favourite of all time. I bought it without even smelling it when it launched at the end of 2010, and it has been with me since. On my skin, it lasts all day and into the next. It can be worn at any time, day or night. It’s sexy and mature, not cloying like artificial fragrances; ideal for a mysterious, elegant woman who enjoys seduction.

  • One of the best vanillas I’ve smelled in a perfume. I love it, what a pity it’s discontinued. If it’s still available in any country, go buy it directly; you won’t be disappointed.

  • Discontinued in Spain. I used it as a substitute for Voile d’Ambre from the same brand, my favourite for years until it vanished. It is vanilla-based and sensual, though not as long-lasting as the previous one. Better suited for autumn and winter.

  • One of the best vanillas I’ve tried, elegant, sober, and sweet without being cloying. A wonder with very good longevity. I bought it because it reminded me of the smell of a L’Occitane bourbon vanilla butter that was also discontinued. If you find anything similar, please write to me.

  • One of the best vanillas tried: elegant, sober, sweet without being cloying. A marvel with excellent longevity. I bought it because it reminded me of the scent of a L’Occitane bourbon vanilla butter that has also disappeared. If you find anything similar, please let me know 😉

  • I still use what was left when it was discontinued, applying it drop by drop. It’s exquisite, one of the finest adult vanillas I’ve tried; slightly boozy, far removed from the sugary concoctions favoured by younger girls. I started with it because of its resemblance to Dior’s Hypnotic Poison, which I found very expensive, but now, given what they’ve done with that scent, Vanille Noire seems superior. It’s a pity it’s no longer available (I can’t stand Yves Rocher so cheerfully delisting products). The good news is that My Soul Soirée from Mercadona has an almost identical dry-down and an unbeatable price.
