  Hello. This perfume is just hitting the shelves, so don’t worry. To start, I don’t know oud very well; I’ve smelled few perfumes with this note, and my only reference is Jo Malone. When I went to the store, I expected something similar, but it wasn’t the case. The quality is very different. I didn’t love the Jo Malone one, but it’s nice, sweet, and not cloying. The Yves one feels synthetic; if luxury brands do it, that’s not a criticism. It has a medicinal facet, which isn’t bad, but here it’s very marked and can tire the nose quickly. Two sprays lasted over six hours on my arm, though very faint at the end. The sillage is strong at first but lasts about two hours. I was disappointed by that for an EDP. I don’t want to take away its merit, as it brings oud closer to those who rarely buy it, not just due to money but location, especially in Latin America. As a positive point, it will attract attention, for good or ill. If you’re looking for that, it might be for you. I’d give it another chance and the body cream, sometimes the moisturisers smell different and get closer to what I want.

  For years now, my favourite fragrance has been discontinued: Flower Kenzo Oriental, with its smoked bottle, calligraphic poppy, and that incense scent I miss and am obsessed with. That’s why I sought out this Rose Oud by Yves Rocher, a brand that, although economical, has never let me down. I couldn’t find it in stores, so I ordered it via catalogue: it’s a pleasant aroma, slightly sweet and sour, powdery, warm like a caress, and soft. Frankly, I don’t think it has that natural Oud note (which would be very expensive), but it’s a pleasant aromatic surprise at a low price. Soft trail, medium longevity. Recommended for any age.

I sought out this ‘Rose Oud’ by Yves Rocher, a brand that has never let me down, even though it’s cheap. I couldn’t find it in stores, so I ordered it via catalogue: it smells good, a bit sweet and sour, powdery, warm like a hug, and soft. Frankly, I don’t think it has real ‘Oud’ incense (which would cost a fortune), but it’s a pleasant surprise at a low price. Soft trail, medium longevity. Recommended for all ages.

  It’s a mature rose, not for everyone, very spiced. At first, it smells of dehydrated Turkish figs. I love it for lasting long on the skin and for being warm, perfect for those cold winter days. Good work by Yves Rocher for releasing a new rose perfume after pulling the Rose Absolute, though there’s no comparison between the two. Anyway, the Rose Oud is one of my favourites for its mysterious and oriental essence, nothing like typical florals.
