  I absolutely loved this fragrance, but it’s no longer sold. I own Cool Water, but they don’t resemble each other in the slightest. I really hope they relaunch it one day.

  This is a gem in perfumery, a cologne I loved for its excellent scent. The closest match I’ve found is Ralph Lauren’s Polo Blue, but with nuances; the difference is that Brut Actif Blue was more potent for me, and I’d love to see it relaunched. Mind you, they changed the formula later, so the very first one is the best.

  I picked up the green Brut, the most basic one with that bottle I simply adore; it smells fantastic, a simple, unpretentious scent perfect for private enjoyment. But while searching to write a review, I stumbled upon Actif Blue and got a major flashbulb moment from the 90s… I used it! Of course I did, I used it loads during my teens, the go-to cologne for school. I remember it perfectly; it was divine… very blue, very fresh, very fruity. It didn’t last long, but it was a treat. What beautiful memories a fragrance bottle can evoke from your youth, and how good it feels to look back with affection.
