I’ve always liked it, although now I see it smells similar to my D&G. They share sandalwood, vanilla, jasmine, and bergamot. It’s feminine, elegant, and possesses a simple beauty that keeps it relevant. Its musk is one of the most feminine I’ve heard, with a very subtle suede touch. The composition is harmonious, without any harshness. Fragrantica calls it baby powder, but I’d say it smells soapy, typical of these notes. It’s a ‘vaporous’ fragrance, and as others say, a bottled cashmere sweater: light colours, soft, and elegant. It’s not for everyone; it has a reduced but loyal audience. I remember trying this in 1998 with a friend who looked at me strangely, but it wasn’t for her, who always wore makeup and sought to be sexy. Cashmere Mist is a minimalist beauty.
The base notes of Cashmere Mist are the best; they always give me the sensation of being hugged by someone wearing a perfumed sweater. Vanilla, wood, musk, and amber stand out on my skin, creating a sweet, soft, and comforting scent. In winter, it’s a delight.
Wakala makes me nauseous just from smelling it, fuchi.
I bought this blindly because of the bottle, which is simply gorgeous. It’s a comforting fragrance that accompanies you throughout the day like a caress, without leaving a trail or trying to attract attention; it just reminds you it’s there. Perfect for the coldest winter days, soft and delicate, almost exclusively for yourself. I wear it purely for my own enjoyment. It’s slightly unisex, but for me, who prefers 100% feminine perfumes and find masculine notes irritating, it is incredibly pleasant. It’s a beautiful fragrance, like a cashmere jumper in the middle of winter.
I picked it up blindly because of the bottle, and it hasn’t disappointed. It smells lovely, cosy, and accompanies you like a caress all day. It doesn’t project or draw attention; it simply reminds you that it’s there with you. Ideal for the coldest days of winter: soft, delicate, and for yourself. Slightly unisex, but for me, who hates masculine notes, it’s a 100% success. It’s like a cashmere jumper in a bottle for frosty days.
I hate it. I bought it blindly based on reviews because I thought it would be powdery, but it turns out to be very heavy and cloying. I’ve been laughing at it deadpan for ages. I actually get dizzy whenever I put it on.
I absolutely hated it. I bought it blindly, expecting it to be fresh, but it turned out to be extremely heavy and cloying. I’ve been dying of laughter with it since I got it. I actually feel sick whenever I put it on.
I loved this perfume so much; the scent is lovely (personally for me) and very soft. I only wore it when I smelled it on myself; I adored it. However, after a few hours, it faded to just a very faint, powdery, oriental scent in my opinion. I haven’t bought it again yet; I’ll see if I can summon the courage later.
It smells classic and is absolutely rich; it’s more woody than floral, which is unusual for cashmere. That blend of suede, musk, sandalwood, and jasmine is very feminine, delicate, warm, soft, cosy, and clean. It reflects a subtle, comforting, and reliable character with its woody and powdery aroma. For me, it’s wearable all year round, but if I had to name the best season, I’d say autumn. It’s appropriate for the office—refined, polite, beautiful, and elegant; it reflects a kind and affectionate personality. It can be easily worn at formal events; it’s versatile. Longevity is 12 hours on the skin, and the trail is moderate.
It was my first perfume I bought with my own money. I wandered into the perfumerie feeling a bit lost, and the assistant guided me; naturally, I ended up with Cashmere Mist in 50ml. I used it only for going out with friends on weekends; I don’t think I wore it daily back then—I probably had something cheaper. A year ago, I tried Artemisia by Penhaligon’s, and it brought back memories of those nights out with Donna Karan; they are very similar. To me, it’s warm and cosy, like a loving embrace on a cold winter’s night. I even remember the clothes I was wearing then. These days, I wouldn’t wear it to the office for a joke: it’s elegant and sophisticated, yet sober, neat, and minimalist, nothing extravagant. I considered buying more Penhaligon’s to recapture those old times, but with so much urge to shop, I’m not sure if ‘going back to the past’ is a good idea.
Although released in 1994, it doesn’t smell like an old classic. Perhaps its discretion has worked against it, leaving few reviews, but that is its charm: it offers a distinct alternative to what’s available now. If silent luxury had a scent, it would be this. It’s not strident or attention-seeking, yet it doesn’t fade. It lingers like an elegant whisper: warm, sensual, and sober, almost like an invisible caress. It smells powdery and talcum-like, without that cloying cosmetic note that can be so irritating. The woody notes give it structure, while the florals, though suggested by the bottle, remain in the background. It’s not a fresh summer or light spring scent; it suits the changing seasons best. It works well in autumn, mild winters, and temperate spring evenings. Perhaps it’s not the best for summer, but it’s perfect for everyday wear with an elegant air. A daily fragrance that, unintentionally, conquers. Sometimes forgotten classics return to remind us why they deserve a place on our skin. 🥂
