Tardes by Carner Barcelona is a floral musky woody fragrance for women. Launched in 2010, this composition was created by perfumer Daniela Andrier. The top notes unfold with almond, Brazilian rosewood, rose and geranium; the heart reveals plum, Virginia cedar and celery; while the base notes complete the olfactory pyramid with heliotrope, tonka bean and musk.

I’m daring to write this as a novice in the complex and delightful world of perfume. I jumped in with my restless spirit, refusing to give up anything. I reaffirm what I previously dismissed out of ignorance: perfumes have no gender (save for obvious exceptions). I cannot imagine Persians, Greeks, or Romans separating essences between women and warriors. Tardes is perfect for unisex. It wears well, opens pleasantly, and, as in this house, is not invasive (one must moderate the sprays). I detect soft almond, floral notes, and sweetness, probably from tonka bean. I see it as ELEGANT and SEDUCTIVE (especially up close), and the wearer will notice constant bursts. In my next review, once I’ve tested it more, I’ll rate longevity (I intuit moderately) and projection (moderate-light). The quality shows. Best regards.

A lovely and cosy perfume. It smells of dense sweet almond oil, with a slight fruity sweetness and a cottony floral touch. In the opening, I notice a bit of iris, and in the dry-down, a tiny hint of celery. It’s not elegant or suitable for going out at night. If there is one word, it would be ‘siesta’: the tranquility of home after a meal, in a quiet city. Lasts 4–6 hours with soft sillage.

A very pretty and cosy perfume. It smells of dense sweet almond oil, with a slight fruity sweetness and a cottony floral touch. In the opening, I note a bit of iris, and indeed, in the distance, there is a hint of celery. It is not elegant nor suitable for going out at night. If there were one word, it would be ‘siesta’: the tranquility of home after a meal, in a quiet city. Duration 4-6 hours. Soft trail.

  • Tardes radiates light. It’s a fresh powder, a contradictory thing but that’s exactly what it is. Above all, it smells of almond, powdered florals and yes, I feel the juiciness and freshness of the celery, green and crisp. I find it refined but not formal. Very easy to wear; it will make you look good and feel light. The performance is good, although the sillage stays close to the body. It puts a smile on my face, taking me to a sunny day outdoors. Beautiful, refined, relaxed, a delight. For me, it leans feminine, but I would love to smell it on anyone.

It’s a true delicacy, a slightly sweet and vanilla-musked fragrance where the almonds round everything off. It gives a creamy and enveloping sensation, and it’s addictive. It’s one of the most sensual I’ve tried. Perfect for a date, although the sillage is very soft; if it were stronger it would be my signature, but at close range it’s intoxicating. Completely unisex and I believe it’s one of the best creations alongside Palo Santo from this house.

  • Tardes is unisex, period. I initially dismissed it, but at the Carner store they offered it to me without any issue. It has lots of sweet almond but is ‘refreshed’ with rose and celery, which aren’t direct but add freshness and floral notes. At some point, I catch a hint of liquor. It has an air of Guerlain’s Homme Ideal but much lighter, airy and refined. Very delicate and elegant. EXPANSION: I wore it to work with a vial, and on my skin, the projection and longevity were discreet. It’s a bit hard to justify the price.

  • Tardes is a UNISEX perfume. So resolute I must begin, as I initially dismissed it and at Carner store they offered it to me without any problem. What is Tardes like? It is a perfume with lots of sweet almond but ‘refreshed’ with rose and celery, which are not directly noticeable but are there providing that floral and fresh point. At some point I detect a hint of liqueur. It has an air of Guerlain’s ‘Homme Ideal’, but much lighter, airy, and above all, refined. A delicate and elegant fragrance. EXPANSION: After some time I wore it to work (I had part of a vial left), and on my skin the projection and longevity have been quite discreet. It is a bit hard to justify the price.

This perfume is a true delicacy, a slightly sweet and musky aroma where almonds round off the composition. It gives a creamy and enveloping sensation, and the scent becomes addictive. It is one of the most sensual I have tried. Perfect for a date, although the trail is very soft; if it were stronger it would be my signature, but up close it is intoxicating. It is totally unisex and I believe it is one of the best creations alongside Palo Santo from this house.

  • Tardes radiates light. It is a fresh powder scent, despite how contradictory that may sound. Above all, it is an aroma of almond, powdered flowers, and yes, I feel the juiciness of celery, green and crisp. It seems refined but not formal. Very easy to wear; Tardes will make you look good and feel light. Its performance is good, although the trail stays close to the body. This perfume puts a smile on my face, taking me to a sunny day outdoors. I find it beautiful, refined, relaxed, a delight. For me, it leans more towards the feminine side, but I would love to smell it on anyone.

  • It opens with an amaretti-style boozy almond, a touch of plum and musk with heliotrope. It reminds me of Indi by Katy Perry but sweeter due to the amaretti and with a hint of mothballs that doesn’t convince me. As it dries, the mothball note fades and it becomes a powdery musk close to the skin, similar to Besos from the house but sweeter thanks to the tonka bean. It smells like freshly cut cotton wool, powdered but without being heavy or dry. Projects well for 3 hours and lasts 10 hours on the skin. Leans more feminine, but a man could wear it. Polymorphous and ideal for autumn, though it works for any season if it’s not too hot. Pleasant: 6/10, interesting: 7/10, versatile: 8/10, original: 7/10.

  • Tardes is a brilliant discovery for dipping into Carner. Exquisitely delicate, luminous and elegant, a perfect unisex. It could be a man’s signature or a spring scent for her. It opens aromatic but is hard to decipher. Then the queen of almonds emerges in a sea of powdered vanilla and heliotrope, which sometimes smells like cherry. As it dries, the musk grows and I notice anise-like traces. Extremely pleasant. Lasts 8 hours with moderate sillage. If you want to explore the house, I recommend the box with three 15ml minis I received as a Christmas gift. Scent 7.5/10, longevity 8/10, sillage 7/10, value for money 7/10, versatility 7/10, packaging 7/10. Yes, I would buy again.

  • It’s interesting but has something artificial, perhaps due to the celery and plum combination. My first impressions are that it smells like a white floral room freshener. I need to give it more wear.

  • Very almond-heavy with plum and florals, highlighting heliotrope which reinforces the musk and adds a talc-like, clean touch over vanilla. It’s feminine, sweet yet delicate, light and cosy. Ideal as a signature scent. Lasts about 6 hours with moderate sillage. Top 3 from the house.

I just used it and it smells very much like Lolita Lempicka. It lasts 4–6 hours clinging to the skin. It suits any season and day. It opens with an almond note, slightly boozy, with violet. I liked it.

I have just bought and used it, and it reminds me quite a bit of Lolita Lempicka, the classic. On my skin it lasts about 4 to 6 hours but close to the skin. I see it for any season, summer, autumn, etc., and during the day. Almond opening, slightly liqueur-like, and for me it carries some violet. I have liked it…

Upon trying it, it’s not quite my style. It’s a super-clean fragrance with plenty of musk and celery, which I wouldn’t buy despite it being lovely. However, the brand is definitely one of my favourites in the niche.
